Stella Matherne Guidry, 79, a native of Bourg and a resident of Raceland, died Sunday, Sept. 9.

Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. Religious Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Samart Funeral Home.

Burial followed in Rogers Cemetery in Houma.

Guidry is survived by daughter Sheila Bryant and husband Tim; sons Randy Allen Guidry and wife Kathy, Craig D. Guidry; daughter - in -law Diane Guidry; brothers Dale Matherne and wife Connie, Edward Matherne and wife Jennifer; sisters Nora Jean Bonnin and husband Ledon, Loretta Dardar and husband Daniel and Della Belanger and husband Robert.

She is also survived by five grandchildren; Donald Guidry, Sheree Dunaway, Heath Guidry, Michelle Guidry and Colin Guidry and eight great-grandchildren; Jordan Dunaway, William Dunaway, Shannon Dunaway, Donnell Bryant, Eliana Bryant, Kyle Bryant, Justin Bryant and Hayden Guidry.

Guidry was preceded in death by husband Donald Ray Guidry; son Carl " Butch" Guidry; parents Hillmonde and Helen Dufrene Matherne; Adles Matherne, Stanley Matherne, Elmer Matherne and Jessie Matherne; sisters Eula Hafford and Clothilde Hogan and brother Henry Matherne.

The family would like to say a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice, Margie Plaisance, Connie Babin, Michelle Guidry and Leah Guidry for the wonderful care they gave Ms. Guidry.
