Chaisson elected to 10-year court of appeal term From staff and wire reports - Aug 23, 2012
Judge Robert Chaisson, of Destrehan, was re-elected to a full 10-year term on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal last week after no one qualified to run against him. Chaisson, a Democrat, was elected to the 3rd District, Division A seat after a special election in October to fill the 10-year term of Judge Edward Dufresne, who died in 2010. In that election, Chaisson defeated St. John the Baptist Parish District Court Judge Madeline Jasmine with 73 percent of the votes. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeal hears cases from St. Charles, Jefferson, St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes. Read More Stories at HeraldGuide.com! |
