Amos Joseph Rodriguez, 81, died on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at St. Charles Parish Hospital. Amos received his Electricianís license from Delgado in New Orleans. In his younger years, he was a champion boxer and excelled in track and shotput. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was best known as "The Guitar Man" and the leader of his musical family band, which was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his companion, Louella Falgout; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Adrian Pellegrin, Barbara and Allan Mark Matherne, and Debbie and Jimmy Gisclair; son Amos G. Rodriguez and companion Brittney Sons; two sisters, Mildred Ourso and Madeline Gentiles; three brothers, Joseph Kearney Rodriguez, Holden Rodriguez and wife Gladys, and Wilson Rodriguez and wife Peggy; seven grandchildren, Tanya and husband Randal, Jaime and husband Jim, Brandy and husband Hillary, Jarod and wife Jenn, Tara, Chance and companion Erica, and Isabella; and four great grandchildren, Brady, Kendall, Avery and Cooper.
Preceded in death by wife Janice LaBauve Rodriguez; parents Manuel and Camelia Alleman Rodriguez; and three brothers Whitney, Lloyd, and Warren Rodriguez.
Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 11 at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. Mass of Christian Burial followed at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle. Interment followed at St. Raphael Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
