Capt. Kenneth DeCorte of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was among 264 law enforcement officers who graduated from the FBI National Academy on June 8 in Quantico.

The 249th Session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from across the United States, including 24 International students from other countries.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.

Training for the program is provided by FBI Academy instructional staff, special agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

Capt. DeCorte has been with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office for 18 years. He serves as an assistant warden at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
