A Destrehan man who was accused of raping his wife several times over the past 16 months was arrested on Thursday, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The man’s name was not released to protect the woman’s identity. He was booked with aggravated rape and oral sexual battery, and remained in the St. Charles Parish jail with bond set at $200,000.

Authorities allege that the assaults happened several times since November of 2010.
