| Braud |
Pearl Brady Troxler Braud, age 96 years, died on Oct. 5. She is
preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert E. “Sal” Troxler and
Bagley J. Braud, her parents, Charles and Leila Brady, brothers
Clifton, Joseph and Oscar Brady and sisters Agnes Hotard and Judith
James. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 8 at Sacred Heart
of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. In lieu of flowers, the family
prefers that Masses be said.

| Cartozzo |
Pete Cartozzo, age 72, died on Oct. 18 at Johnson City Medical
Center Hospital, Johnson City, Tenn. A native of Independence, he
was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabethton,
Tenn. and a foreman at Magnavox/Phillips. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Cartozzo, sons Steve of Johnson
City and Mike of Atlanta, Ga., daughters Jennie Fletcher of Johnson
City and Anna Williams of Elizabethton, grandchildren Elaine Fletcher,
Joe Deel, Derek Cartozzo, Randi Williams and Cassie Williams, great-granddaughter
Justice Deese, brothers Henry Cartozzo of Metairie, Jimmy Cartozzo
of LaPlace, Sam Cartozzo of Norco and Joseph “Sonny” Cartozzo of
Independence, sister Rose Courtney of Columbia, Miss. and several
nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 22 at St. Elizabeth
Catholic Church followed by Interment at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations
to the American Liver Foundation, 5583 Murray Road, Memphis, Tn.,
38119.

| Gaubert |
Earline Bourne Gaubert, native and resident of Hahnville, passed
away on Oct. 7. She was 83 years old.
She is survived by her suns, Charles, James and Virgil Gaubert,
daughter Judith Zeringue, sister Rena Simoneaux, 10 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Lawrence Joseph Gaubert, and parents Charles and Arthemise Falgout
Borne.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 11 at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church in Hahnville, followed by burial at the church cemetery
in Taft.

| Guidry |
Donald Charles Guidry, age 68, died on Oct. 7 at River Parish Hospital
in LaPlace. His parents, Joseph A. and Myrtle Kilebert Guidry, preceded
in him death by many years. He is survived by his sister and guardian,
Audrey Mae Guidry Miranda Friloux of New Sarpy, and two brothers,
Clyde Guidryand Joseph A. Guidry, Jr., of Luling.
Donald was a native of Luling and lived most of his life in Norco
in the home of his sister, Audrey, and her late former husband,
Joseph A. Miranda Sr., along with his beloved surrogate sister and
brothers, Debbie Miranda Weber and Joseph A. “Tony” Dino and Dennis
Miranda. He is also survived by nephews Byron, Steven, Allen, Mark,
Timothy, David and Kyle Guidry, M.D., and niece Lyndall Boyce, and
numerous great nieces and nephews.
His last years were spent at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in LaPlace
where he was afforded fine care and was loved by all the staff.
Donald was a much loved, very special Downs Syndrome person who
was always a “cowboy.” He was a past client to the ARC of St Charles.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 9 at St. Charles Borromeo
Catholic Church in Destrehan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
Masses or donations to the ARC of St. Charles, P.O. Box 445, Boutte,
LA 70039. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Colin
Bailey and the nurses who so compassionately cared for Donald at
River Parishes Hospital.

| McDermott |
June W. McDermott of Luling died on Oct. 2.
Wife of the late John R. McDermott, she was
mother of John E. McDermott and Gary A. McDermott, mother-in-law
of Diane McDermott and Cheryl McDermott, sister of the late Betty
Chapman, grandmother of Michelle Ryckman and G. Sean mcDermott,
great-grandmother of Rees Michael Ryckman and Sean Bradley McDermott
and step-grandmother of Nicole Short and Philip Short. She also
had five step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts can be mad to Luling United
Methodist Church, 1001 Paul Maillard Road, Luling, 70070, or Canon
Hospice, 1221 S. Clearview Parkway, Jefferson, La., 70121, in lieu
of flowers.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 5 at Luling
United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Garden of Memories
Cemetery in Metairie.

| Racca |
Marie Inis Duhon Racca died on Oct. 23, 2004. She was born Oct.
14, 1924 in Kinder. She was a native of Sulphur and a resident of
the Living Center in Luling the previous four years. Devoted wife
of the late James Stanley Racca, she is preceded in death by her
parents, Olivia Miller Duhon of Woodlawn, and Willis Duhon of Kinder,
a sister, Ethel McFerrin of Lafayette, Tenn., a brother, Hubert
Duhon of Sulphur. Survivors include two daughters, Faye and her
husband, Bruce Frickey Sr., Margaret and her husband, Terry Meyer
of Raceland. Three sons, James and his wife, Brenda, Kenneth and
his wife, Elaine, Harold and his wife, KiKi, all of Sulphur, one
sister, Dorothy and her husband, Andrew J Drost of Kirksville, Mo.,
one brother, James Willis Duhon and his wife, Liz of Sulphur, brother-in-law,
George (Buddy) McFerrin of Lafayette, Tenn. 12 grandchildren and
eight great grandchildren.
A Homegoing Celebration commemorating her life was held on Oct.
26 in the Chapel of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur.
Following the service, interment was at the Magnolia Cemetery in
West Lake.

| Walker |
Walter Anthony Walker, a native of Norco and
resident of New Orleans, died on Oct. 7. He was 70 years old. He
is survived by his son, Russel Walker of New Orleans, daughters
Stephanie Vega and husband Dr. J. Vega of Cut Off and Elizabeth
Heitkamp McCaleb and husband Howard McCaleb of New Orleans, brother
Howard Walker Jr. and wife Joanne, sisters Fay Louque and husband
Warren of Destrehan, Catherine Dufresne and husband Romeo of Norco
and Diane Johnson and husband Greg of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren,
Jay and Alexis Vega and Grace Walker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard
Walker Sr. and Verlie Richoux. Walter served the United States Army
in Europe during the Korean War.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct.
11 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.
