Anderson
|
Curtis L. Anderson, retired senior vice president of 30 years with
Azalea Fleet, Inc. and former President of the Greater New Orleans
Barge Fleeting Association, died on Nov. 27 of heart failure at
the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 66 years old.
Mr. Anderson was born in Sleepy Eye, Minn. and has lived in Luling
for the past 33 years. He was a member of the Luling United Methodist
Church. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Leola Gebhard
Anderson, children Debora A. Peres, Tamara A. Abadie, Daniel R.
Anderson and Pamela A. Matherne; sons-in law Ricke Peres, Wayne
Abadie and Dee Matherne, grandchildren Amanda Harris, Brittany Anderson,
Courtney Anderson and Seth Abadie and sister and brother-in-law
Mike and Judy Peters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan
and Lorraine Anderson.
Memorial services were held on Dec. 1 at Mothe Funeral Home in
Marrero. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made
to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

| Bergeron |
Katie K. Bergeron, a native and resident of Des Allemands, passed
away on Nov. 9. She was 78 years old.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Conner and David Larkin, daughters
Margie Alexander and Sharon Taylor, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Emma Klimple,
husband Felix Adam Bergeron, sons Ernest Hebert and Adam Bergeron
and daughter Gloria Whitmore.
Religious services were held on Nov. 11 at First Assembly of God
Church in Des Allemands. In lieu of flowers the family requests
donations to help with the funeral expenses.

| Brooks |
Larry “Chuck” Brooks died Nov. 27 of lung cancer at Medical Center
of Louisiana. He was 35.
Brooks was a native of Atlanta and a resident of Destrehan for
the past nine years. He was employed as an offshore service technician
for A.G.I. Industries in Marrero.
He is survived by his spouse, Cindy Culler Brooks; father, Larry
J. Brooks; sons, Tyler Breaux and John Brooks; daughter, Lauryn
Brooks; and sisters, Phyllis Gray, Dorothy Breaux, and Tiney Guidry.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. at Kenner Funeral
Home of L.A. Muhleisen & Son, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner. Visitation
is on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Brooks
Family Cemetery in Tylertown, Mississippi.

| Henson |
Roy Edward Henson, a native of Ruleville, Miss. and resident of
Montz, passed away on Nov. 15 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was 50 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Foreman Henson, his parents
Roy and Lillie Lucille Smith Henson, stepson Kevin Ford Sr., brother
Billy Gene Henson and sisters Dorothy Ann Griffin, Joyce Cochenic
and Linda Sue McLaughlin. He is preceded in death by his sister,
Shirley Jenson.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Alexander
Funeral Home in Norco, followed by the funeral service.

| Moheng |
John William Moheng, Jr., a native of Trinadad,
Colo. and resident of New Sarpy, passed away on Nov. 5. He was 78
years old.
Mr. Moheng is survived by his wife, Virginia
Serrett Moheng, children Melissa, Debbie, John W. Sr., Scott and
John Allen, sister Betty Jo, brother Paul, 14 grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents, John W.
Sr. and Zeta Woods Moheng, sister Pauline and sons David and Blane.
Mr. Moheng was a US Navy veteran of World
War II.
Religious services will be held today at 11
a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Visitiation is today from
8:30 a.m. untl 11 a.m.

| Parks |
Edna Josephine Parks, a native of Raceland and resident of Paradis,
passed away on Nov. 22. She was 100 years old.
Mrs. Parks is survived by her sons, Wilmer P., Venis A., Raymond
P., Terry J. and Gary P. Parks, daughters Velma Dufrene and Ethel
Savoie, 19 grandchildren, 37 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren
and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Josephine Guidry
Folse, brothers Columbus, Milton and Tilton Folse and sister Hilda
Daigle.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 24 at St. John the
Baptist Church in Paradis.

| Tregre |
Diane Margerite Champagne Tregre, wife and best friend of Donald
R. Tregre, aged 64 years, died at 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 17 of cancer.
She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Oneil Tregre, her father
Oneil Joseph Champagne and two brothers, O.J. Champagne Jr. and
Carl P. Champagne. Diane is survived by her husband Donald R. Tregre,
mother Gilberta Millet Champagne, sons David E. Tregre of Destrehan
and Dale G. Tregre of Pearland, Texas, daughters-in-law Dawn M.
Tregre and Joan G. Trege, two grandchildren, Ian and Catherine Tregre,
her brother, Dr. Lloyd P. Champagne of Scottsdale, Ariz., and her
beloved cocker spaniel Brandy Alexander.
A resident of Destrehan, Diana was a member of the Catholic Daughters,
a leader of RCIA and a Eucharistic Minister.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 20 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church, followed by entombment in the Church Mausoleum.

| Tyree |
Richard F. Tyree, Jr., a native and resident of Luling, passed
away on Nov. 14. He was 40 years old.
Mr. Tyree is survived by his brothers, Rolfe anthony Tyree and
Ron M. Tyree. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard F.
and Barbara Bergeron Tyree.
A memorial service was held on Nov. 17 at St. Anthony Catholic
Church in Luling.

| Vanacor |
Bryan P. Vanacour, a native and resident of Des Allemands passed
away on Nov. 17. He was 46 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Landry Vanacor, motor Una Folse
Vanacor, sons Bryan Jr. and Michael, daughters Talicia and Vanessa,
brothers Thomas, Malcolm and Roddy and one grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Vanacor Jr., and
his brother Rachel “Ray” Vanacor.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 21 at St. Gertrude
Catholic Church in Des Allemands, followed by burial at the Mennonite
Cemetery, Des Allemands.

Gerald “Jerry” Louis Waguespack of Montz passed away on Nov. 20.
He was 63 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Brady Waguespack, father Norman
J. Waguespack, son Doyle Anthony Waguespack and wife Tina, daughters
Robbie Ann Keller and husband Dennis, Kellie Marie Waguespack and
France Daniel Weber Jr., brothers Daniel, Rodney and Allen Waguespack,
sister Norma Granier, grandchildren Dirk Mancuso, Jamie Doman, Sean
Doman, Candace Dauphin, Chantell Dauphin, Rhett Waguespack and Katelyn
Waguespack, and great-grandchildren Aaron Dauphin, Skylar Bowman
and Cheyanne Doman.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alamondra Waguespack.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 24 at Sacred Heart
of Jesus Church on Norco.

| Wigle |
Ann Zerkus Wigle, wife of Norman Wigle, passed
away at the Luling Living Center on Nov. 14. She was 90 years old.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years,
her son Warren Wigle, her daughter Mariann Wigle Burns, five grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the
Luling United Methodist Church on Nov. 22.
