| Aubert |
Louis Aubert Jr. died June 9 of a heart attack at St. Charles Parish
Hospital. He was 47.
Mr. Aubert was born in Lutcher and lived in Destrehan.
Survivors include his wife, Aletea Stewart Aubert; a daughter,
Lacy Aubert; a stepdaughter, Richon Jones; a stepson, Richard Jones
IV; five sisters, Octavia Bright, Claudia Robertson, Lilly Francis,
Jennifer Thompson and Jacquelyn Michaels; seven brothers, Lloyd
Jackson, Robert Aubert Sr., Kenneth Aubert Sr., and Alvin, Gerald,
Tremille and Calvin Aubert.
A funeral was held Saturday. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Etiennette "Net" Jeanne Steib Becnel died on June 19. She was 84.
Mrs. Becnel was a native of Vacherie and a resident of Luling.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Becnel, Sr.;
her parents, Etienne and Elizabeth Falgout Steib; a daughter-in-law,
Maisy Hymel Becnel; a son-in-law, Darwin Guillory; a child, Berris
Becnel; four brothers, Berris, Rene, Adolph, and Albert Becnel,
one sister, Josephine Reulet; one great granddaughter, Kaylie Barras;
and one great-great grandson, Colby Falcon.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Terry, Raymond,
and Chris Becnel, Marlene Guillory, Carolyn and Harry Millien, Sr.
of Donaldsonville, Beverly and George Borne, Jr., and Susanne and
Gerald Zeringue; one sister, Prudent Steib of Vacherie, 14 grandchildren;
20 great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 22. Burial in Our
Lady of Peace Catholic Church's cemetery in Vacherie.

Joseph Eno Becnel died June 3. He was 79.
Mr. Becnel was a native of Vacherie and a resident of Luling.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church and a member of the VFW
Post 3750 of Luling and the American Legion of Luling.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Dupont Becnel;
parents, Bernard Becnel Sr., and Aimee Steib Becnel; four brothers,
Bernard Jr., Pierre, Albert, and Ray Becnel; and two sisters, Marie
Antoinette Reulet and Genevieve Labat. Survivors include two sons,
Lyle and Pierre Becnel; three daughters, Amanda Campbell, Lisa Becnel
Edwards, and Sarah Thigpen; and six grandchildren, Joshua, Kara,
and Jessica Becnel, Blaine and Wesley Thigpen, and Garrett Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 6. Burial in St. Charles
Cemetery in Luling.
Arrangements were under the direction of Falgout Funeral Homes,
Inc. of Raceland.

Edna Jean Little Blanchard died June 11 at Ormond Nursing and Care
Center. She was 85.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and lived
in Destrehan. She was a baker at St. Lawrence the Martyr School.
Survivors include a son, Louis Blanchard; a daughter, Robyn Blanchard
Buccola; and five grandchildren. A private service was held. Landry
Funeral Home of Thibodaux handled arrangements.

Florence "Madea" Brown died June 14 at Universal Medical Center
in Jackson, Miss. She was 89.
Mrs. Brown was born in Yazoo City, Miss., and lived in New Sarpy,
LaPlace and Jackson. She served as head deaconess and Mother of
the church at Wayside Church of Deliverance in Jackson.
Survivors include three daughters, Emma Narcisse of LaPlace and
Minnie and Bernice Green; four sons, Percy Hollins Sr. of LaPlace,
James Blount of Metairie, Ben Blount and Lynell Brown; a stepsister,
Mary Lee Barker; 44 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; and 15
great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday. Burial in Marl Grove Church Cemetery
in Byram, Miss. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Felicie D. Catanzano died June 26 at Waldon Health Care Center.
She was 91.
Mrs. Catanzano was born in Sunshine and lived in St. Rose for
the past 80 years. She was a retired employee of TG&Y Department
Stores. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church
and was a member of its Altar Society and the St. Rose Rosary Group.
She was a member of the St. Charles Parish Council on Aging and
American Legion Post No. 366 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary C. Bader and Lena C. Leggio.
A Mass was said Friday. Burial will be in St. Charles Borromeo
Mausoleum.

Yvonne Molaison David died June 2 of a pulmonary
embolism at Kenner Regional Medical Center. She was 73.
Ms. David was born in New Orleans and lived
in Kenner for the past 33 years. She graduated from Redemptorist
High School. She worked at St. Charles General for more than 20
years and was a former receptionist at Touro Infirmary.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher and
Roland David Jr.; two daughters, Karen D. Holmack and Sheryl D.
Brown; and six grandchildren.
A Mass was said on June 13. Burial in St.
Louis Cemetery No. 3.

Larry Davis died June 19 of renal failure at St. Charles Hospital.
He was 62.
Mr. Davis was a native and resident of Boutte.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Evelina Bourgeois and
Joseph Davis, Sr.; four sisters, Joyce Campbell, Theresa Fiest,
Louisa Pinkney, and Dolly Davis; and three brothers, Jacob, Lawrence,
and Larry Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Colly Davis; a stepson, Ricky
Sandolph; three stepdaughters, Andrea Reynolds, Shelly Young and
Sonya Cummings; four brothers, Otis, Issac, Edwards and Joseph Davis;
three sisters, Elizabeth King, Bobbie Sandolph and Evelyn Alexander;
and seven grandchildren.
A funeral was held June 24. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.

Alvin Paul “Tute” Dickinson died June 11 at St. Charles Hospital
in Luling. He was 65.
He was a native of Thibodaux and a resident of St. Rose.
He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Dickerson, Sr.;
his wife, Shirley Mae Talbert Dickerson; and two brothers, Andrew
Dickerson, Jr and Calvin John “Francis” Dickerson.
He is survived by two sons, John J. Cook and Ronnie Paul Dickerson;
two daughters, Angela Dickerson Mack and Antoinette Dickerson Tate;
five sisters, Laura Harris, Faye Ann Fullwood, Mary Dickerson Bolin,
Roxanne Robin, and Willa Dickerson; three brothers, Oliver, Martin,
and Raymond Dickerson; one god child, Pamela Dickerson Scott; 13
grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
and other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 16. Burial in St. John
Catholic Church Mausoleum in Labadieville.

Harriet L. Patsy Dupepe died June 18. She was 72.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amilcar and Anicia Oubre;
and a sister, Doris Mitchell.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Dupepe; her son
and daughter in law, Clarence and Julie Dupepe; her sister, Leola
O. Bourgeois; her granddaughter, Chelsae Dupepe; and 16 nieces and
nephews.
She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 22. Burial in St. Charles
Borromeo Mausoleum.

Edward Joseph Eiermann died June 22 of stroke complications at
Canon Hospice. He was 57.
Mr. Eiermann was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Rose. He
was a graduate of Warren Easton High School.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Peterman; two sons, Brian
and Kevin Eiermann; three brothers, Milton, David and Gary Eiermann;
and five sisters, Doris E. Bordelon, Gladys Maggio, Amelia Bordelon,
Barbara DeLaCerda and Kathy Darymple.
A Mass was said June 25. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Susan Faye Gros died June 5 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. She was
48.
She was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond P. and Hilda
L. Gros; and one brother, Russell Gros. She is survived by her son,
Randy Gros; her brother, Robert Gros; her sister, Tena Gros; and
one grandchild.
Friends are invited to share in a memorial mass on June 10 at
Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Ln., Luling, beginning
at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tharp Funeral Home of Gentilly is

Landry James Hogan died June 9. He was 83.
He was a native and resident of Des Allemands. He was a retired
carpenter and fisherman. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Clothide Matherne Hogan;
three brothers, Andrew, Clarence, and Albert Hogan; and one sister,
Ella Dufrene.
He is survived by his son, Morgan Hogan; two daughters, Rita H.
Dufrene and Delores Thompson; one brother, Jerry Hogan; two sisters,
Lena Dufrene and Janice “Clara” Dufrene; nine grandchildren; and
two great grandchildren.
A funeral was held on June 13. Burial in Sunset Cemetery.

Katherine Faye Johnson died June 23 at St. Charles
Hospital in Luling. She was 57.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Ama and a resident of Luling.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Johnson; two sons, Jemel
Sr. and Tyrone Gomez Johnson; one daughter, Javonna Clarissa Johnson;
her mother, Violet Hills Griffin; four sisters, Melba Rankin, Bernice
Mott, and Emily D. and Sonjia M. Griffin; two brothers, Bruce A.
and Lloyd A. Griffin III; two daughters-in-law, Peggy Sue and Kimberly
Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Margaret J. Marshall and Barbara H.
Griffin; two brothers-in-law, Jeffery Johnson, Jr. and Percy Rankin
Jr.; 5 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives,
and friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday. Burial in First Baptist Cemetery
in Paradis.

Jessica Estelle and Stephanie Michelle Johnson died June 29 of
injuries sustained in a car accident in Greenville, Ala. Jessica
was 19 and Stephanie was 17.
The Johnson sisters were residents of both Luling and Millbrook,
Ala. Jessica was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Hahnville High School.
She just completed her first year of college at Auburn University.
She was majoring in Bioengineering. Stephanie was also a Magna Cum
Laude honor student at Hahnville High School and was to return in
the fall as a senior.
Survivors include their parents, Curtis Johnson of Millbrook and
JoAnn Branch Johnson; a brother, Colton Johnson; grandparents, Marlene
and Leroy Sebring of Story City, Iowa and Walter and Patricia Johnson
of Kennebunk Port, Maine; aunts and uncles, Karen and Kevin Fergusson
of Jacksonville, Walter Johnson Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, James Richard
and Joan Branch of Zion, IL, David Branch of Panama City, Helen

Edgar Joseph Sr. died June 22 of complications from third-degree
burns at his home. He was 97.
Mr. Joseph was born in Ama and lived in New Orleans for many years.
He was a member of Greater Mount Rose Baptist Church, where he served
on the Deacon Board. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Edgar Joseph Jr.; a daughter, Sandra
Joseph Crawford; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday. Burial in Providence Park.

Melburn Louis Landeche died June 28 at East Jefferson General Hospital.
He was 84.
Mr. Landeche was born in Killona and lived in Metairie for 55
years. He was a retired carpenter for M & M Construction Co.
and C&E Builders. He was a former member of the Elks Partyliners
Carnival Club and the Carpenters Union Local No. 1846. He was a
Navy veteran and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Mazel Mitchell Landeche; four daughters,
Dianne Jobe, Patsy Lundin, Sherry Gorman and Janice Ricks; two sisters,
Anna Belle and Mildred DeBautte; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Friday. Burial in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.

Robbie J. Lauland died June 16 of an apparent heart attack at his
home. He was 64.
Mr. Lauland was born in Luling and lived in Mandeville for the
past 27 years. He was a retired engineering maintenance worker at
Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. He was a member of Grace Church in Abita
Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn C. Lauland; four sons, Ronald
E. Lauland, Robbi J. Lauland Jr., Ronald Modica and Timothy S. Miller;
three daughters, Rhonda L. Miller, Cheryl L. Modica and Donna G.
Lauland; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral was
held Saturday.

Betty Tucker Lawrence died June 5.
She lived in Luling.
She is the beloved wife of the late Herb Lawrence. She is the
daughter of the late Hugh and Eula Keathley Tucker. She is survived
by one daughter, Linda Muth; one son, Richard Lawrence; four grandchildren,
William Lawrence, Paul Lawrence, Scott Keeton and Todd Keeton; and
two great grandchildren, Sabrina and Kyle Keeton. Relatives and

Reggie “Head” LeBray died on June 3 in DePaul Hospital in Norfolk,
VA. He was 45.
He was born in New Orleans on January 2, 1960. He lived on the
600 block of Oak Grove Rd.
He is preceded in death by his parents Reggie Sr. and Albertha
G. LeBray.

Lorenia Matherne Macalusa died June 24 at her home. She was 82.
Mrs. Macalusa was born in Lake Salvador and lived for most of
her life in Bayou Gauche and Boutte.
Survivors include a son, Michael Macalusa; a daughter, Katie Trujillo;
a sister, Bertha Chiasson; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass was said Monday. Burial in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic
Church Cemetery in Donaldsonville.

Anita L. "Mamiere" Matherne died June 17 at her
home. She was 97.
She was a resident of Destrehan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Matherne, Sr.;
her parents, Ernest Sr. and Floriska Louque; three brothers, Ernest
Sr., Lionel, and Michael Louque; four sisters, Emma Martin, Ludivine
Poche, and Leona and Irma Bourgeois; and one grandchild, Joey Matherne.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce M. Duvic; a son and daughter-in-law,
Kelly Jr. and Ann V. Matherne; five grandchildren, Darlene M. Martin,
Kevin G. Duvic, Rodney J. Matherne Sr., Robert Viving, and Mary
Ann Bigner; nine great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Roger Vincent Matherne died of cancer June 21 at Oschner Foundation
Hospital. He was 75.
Mr. Matherne was a native and resident of Des Allemands. He was
a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in petroleum engineering. He served in the Army after World
War II as a Lieutenant in the Engineering Corps in France. He then
earned a Masters of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from
the University of South Florida. He worked for Cytec for 25 years.
He funded and ran Sportsman's Cove. He was involved with the United
Way, Rotary of St. Charles, and Holy Family Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Matherne Meynard;
his parents, Roger A. and Bertha Cortez Matherne; and his father-in-law,
Earl Baudoin, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Baudoin Matherne;
his children, Todd and Marilyn Matherne of Houston, TX, Craig and
Judy Matherne, Amy and Chesley Simoneaux, Susan and Guinn Gaubert,
Alan Meynard, Vince Matherne II of Atlanta, GA, Brett and Yvonne
Matherne of Dayton, OH, and Cindy and Scott Muller of Houston, TX;
his grandchildren, Alaina Meynard, Craig II, Jessica, Matt, Alyssa,
Joseph, Nicolas, and Bailey Matherne; his siblings, Clothilde and
Mitch Dempster, Carrie Loupe, Martha and Charles Carlos, and Landry
and Patsy Matherne; and his mother-in-law, Mercedes Baudoin of Raceland.

Jessie Handy McGary died June 7 of complications after an amputation
surgery at Medical Center of Plano in Plano, Texas. She was 55.
Ms. McGary was born in New Orleans and lived in Wylie, Texas,
for the past five months. She graduated from McDonogh No. 35 High
School and Southern University at New Orleans with a degree in education.
She was a former special education teacher at Capdau and Samuel
J. Peters middle schools, a former employee of Answer Phone Systems
and former house director for Anioma Community Home, and a special
education teacher at Carver Middle School. She was a member of Austerlitz
Street Baptist Church, where she was the director of the Christian
education department, the former church secretary and a Sunday school
teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Shanel Mitchell; her mother, Alfrieda
Billy; four sisters, Yvonne Repps, Deborah Moore, Glynthis Preston
and Adrian White; and three grandchildren.
A funeral was held June 6. Burial in Providence Park Cemetery.

Edward Joseph Mire, Jr. died June 18. He was 77.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara
Burguieres Mire and a brother, Herman Mire.
He is survived by one son, Jules Edward Mire and companion, Earl
Barron, Jr.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Nannette and Gary Bergeron,
Catherine and Jerry Davis, Polly and Wayne Pepitone, and Marcie
and Roger Stromeyer; two brothers, Harold and Gerald Mire, one sister,
Lorraine McCloud; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Ethel B. Morris died June 14 of lung cancer at
her home. She was 88.
Mrs. Morris was a lifelong resident of Norco. She was a member
of Providence Baptist Church No. 2 in Montz.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Morris; two grandchildren;
and five great-grandchildren. A funeral was held June 23. Burial
in Montz Memorial Cemetery.

Thomas Emile Motto Jr. died June 10 of complications from a brain
tumor at his home. He was 62.
Mr. Motto was born in New Orleans, lived in Harahan for 45 years
and lived in St. Rose for the past 15 years. He was a retired Orleans
Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office deputy.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Jeandron Motto; two sons,
Thomas Nicholas and Gregory Francis Motto; his mother, Genevieve
Usner Motto; and two grandchildren.
A funeral was held on June 16. Burial in Cypress Grove Cemetery.

August Paul Sr. died June 5 of an allergic reaction
to a bee sting at St. Charles Hospital. He was 68.
Mr. Paul was born in St. Rose and lived in Des Allemands. He worked
for Southern Pacific Railroad for 27 years, but had to retire due
to health issues.
He is preceded in death by his father, Oliver Paul; his mother,
Ellen Gaines-Paul; and his brother, Oliver Paul, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Williams-Paul; two sons, August
Paul Jr. and Derrick Paul; two daughters, Tania Joseph and Yvette
Roberts; one daughter-in-law, Dana Paul; one acquired sister, Barbara
Eugene; two sons-in-law, Valentino Joseph, Sr. and Paul Roberts;

Lucrecia Marie Montz Pollet died June 22 in North Carolina. She
was 98.
She was a former resident of Destrehan, and lived in Lewisville,
NC for the last four years. She was born in Lions. She worked in
the St. Charles Borromeo School cafeteria when it first opened.
She worked there for over 11 years and retired in 1975. She was
a recipient of the "Order of St. Louis Medallion" in 1987.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph
Albert Pollet; and her parents, Franklin and Elizabeth Cambre Montz.
She is survived by two sisters, Agnes Lousteau and Grace St. Pierre;
two brothers, Guy Montz and Lester and wife Elsie Montz; and a host
of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday. Burial in St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Johnnie Mae Richard, died June 2 of cancer in
her home. She was 59.
Ms. Richard was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a
graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was a former employee
of St. Charles General and Baptist hospitals.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Shortridge; two daughters, Tina
Day and Krystal Richard; three brothers, Eugene, Harold, and Johnny
Washington, Jr.; a sister, Anna Mick; and two grandchildren.
A funeral was held June 3. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery.

Herman “Henry” Riley, Sr. died at the Luling Living Center on June
12. He was 68.
He was a native of Whitecastle and a resident of Des Allemands
for the past 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Iona B. and Joseph Riley,
Sr.; a son, Rev. Graylin Thomas; and three siblings, Ethel Lee Mitchell,
Emile Albert, and Elizabeth Riley.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Jones Riley; three sons,
Michael, Darryl, and Herman G. Riley; two daughters, Linda and Ruby
Riley; three stepchildren, Paul, Wendell, and Carlen Jones; two
foster children, Clement Tatney and Donna Tatney Joseph; nine siblings,
Alvin, Pearl R. Davis,Rev. Joseph, Iona R. Snaril, James, Johnny,
Mildred, Prophetess Sarah R. Williams, and Louis Riley; a devoted
niece, Callise Phillips; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren,
a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A funeral was held on June 18. Burial in Shell Mound Cemetery.

| Rousseve |
Ramos Joseph Rousseve, Jr. “Jap” died June 17 at Canon Hospice
in Jefferson. He was 80.
He was a native and resident of Lucy. He was a marine veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelia Mathieu and Ramos
Joseph Rousseve, Sr.; one child, Danya Rousseve; one brother, Theodore
Rousseve; and one sister, Joyce Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores Rousseve; six
children, Sharazana Dinvaut, Marcelette Jackson, Charmaine Rousseve,
Shawn Bacas, Ediie, and Mark Rousseve; three sisters, Aurelia Haines,
Myrna LeGaux, and Florence Chevalier; 19 grandchildren; nine great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and
friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on June 21. Burial in St.
John the Baptist Memorial in Edgard. In lieu of flowers donations
to the American Cancer Association or Canon Hospice of Jefferson.

| Sandel |
Richard "Wayne" Sandel died on June 10 of cancer at Gulfport Memorial
Hospital. He was 73.
Mr. Sandel was born in Lamesa, Texas, and lived in Harvey for
14 years and in Diamondhead, Miss., for the past 15 years. He was
a retired sales manager with Borden Dairy and founder and owner
of United Mail Services in Harahan. He retired from Borden Dairy
after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Diamondhead Golf
Club. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Polk Sandel; a son, Stephen
Wayne Sandel of Luling; two sisters, Sue Adams of Tulia, Texas,
and Inis Greaves of Lamesa; and a grandson. A funeral was held on
June 15. Burial in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.

Robert Adam Smith died June 23 of cancer. He was 55.
He lived in Norco and was a retired volunteer firefighter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Belmont and Marie Cunningham
Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Mayeux Smith; his children,
Brandon and Christina Smith, Michelle Smith Bellinger, and Marie
Smith Flannery; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Joshua Flannery;
two sons-in-law, Michael Bellinger and David Flannery; four siblings,
Cheryl Hoeft, Morton Smith, Thomas Smith, and Deborah O'Neal; and
eight siblings-in-law, Dianne and Dwayne Mayeux, Dana and Jerry
Keller, Fred O'Neal, Danny Hoeft, Nancy Smith, and Dolly Smith.
A funeral was held Monday. Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic
Church Mausoleum.

| Sweeney |
James "Doc" Sweeney Jr., died June 4 of lung
cancer at his home. He was 81.
Mr. Sweeney was born in Charleston, W.Va.,
and lived in Des Allemands for the past 29 years. He was an Army
veteran of World War II, where he served as a medic.
He is preceded in death by his parents James
Sweeny, Sr. and Cleo June Warbutton Sweeny. Survivors include his
wife, Lupe Sweeney; two sons, James Leslie Sweeney and wife Peggy
of Simpsonville, SC and Burl Thomas Sweeney of Dallas; four daughters,
Brenda Kay Hoffmanand husband David of Clendenin, WV, Monica Liza
Gonzalez and husband Pitin of Queens, NY, Martha Laura McHenry and
husband Carroll of Dallas and June Sweeney Brawley; a sister, Genevieve
Johnson on Clendenin, WV; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on June 7. Burial in Restlawn
Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Falgout
Funeral Homes, Inc. of Raceland.

| Trepagnier |
Marilyn Colon Trepagnier died June 27 in Norco.
She was 71.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Mitchel J. Trepagnier;
her mother, Aurelia Colon; two sons, Chris Michael and John Mitchel
Trepagnier; a daughter, Andree Trepagnier Weber; a brother, Percy
J. Colon, Jr.; two sisters, Harriet Clark and Pamela King; and a
grandson, Tristan Nicholas Trepagnier.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred or memorials may be made
to Volunteers of America.

| Walker |
Lynwood James "Chill" Walker died of a heart
attack June 29 at St. Charles Parish Hospital. He was 55.
Mr. Walker was a native of Edgard and a resident of Hahnville.
He was a graduate of Second Ward High School in Edgard and Southern
University in Baton Rouge. He had worked for Union Carbide for more
than 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Toney Walker; a son, Lynwood
Walker Jr.; two daughters, Monique Walker and Kimberly Plowden;
two brothers, Nathaniel and Grant Walker; and three sisters, Margo
Lumar, Avis Alexander and Demetre Bailey
A funeral was held July 5. Burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery
in Edgard.

Grant Joseph Walsh died on June 11 at East
Jefferson Hospital. He was 81.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Clement
Walsh; a son, Grant “Peppy: Walsh; a daughter, Jeanie Burns; brother,
Lester Walsh; sister, Gracie Rivault; and five grandchildren, Rachel,
Rebecca, and Renee Walsh, Ashley Connolly, and Allison Burns.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on June
14. Entombment in St.Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. H.C. Alexander
Funeral Home of Norco was in charge of arrangements.
