| Ayme |
Rowena Madere Ayme, a native of LaPlace and resident of Destrehan
passed away on July 22. She was 71 years old.
Wife of the late Thomas “Tate” Ayme, daughter of the late August
and Regina Baily Madere; mother and mother-in-law of Kim Bordelon,
Keah and bobby Kelly and Kasha Cannon, all of Destrehan, and the
late Thomas “Dale” Bordelon. Sister of Marie Duhe, LaPlace, sister-in-law
of Ida Mae Madere, Kenner, and the late Emelda Jones, Evelina “Jack”
LeMoine, Bernice “Bonnie” Monaret, Clancy, Edward “Nunu,” August
“Blanc” and Raymond Madere, grandchildren and spouses Trever and
Chantelle M. Bordelon, Ashleigh B. and Brandon Drake, Robi, Rachele
and Leland Kelly, Ryan Cannon.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 26 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.

Sue Ellen Cadiere, a native of Houma and resident of Jackson, Miss.,
passed away on July 12. She is survived by her husband, Richard,
daughter Jennifer Hill and husband Keith, brother Richard Barnes
of Raceland and sisters Martha Barnes, Betty Deslatte and Annette
Banquer, all of Norco.
A memorial service was held on July 15 at St. Rose Baptist Church,
followed by interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

| Cortez |
Bernice Fonseca Cortez, a resident of St. Charles Parish, passed
away on July 18. She was 73 years old.
She is survived by two sons, two daughters, 14 grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Anthony Cortez Sr., and one daughter. She was a retired member of
the St. Charles Parish School Board.
Religious services will be held today at Falgout Funeral Homes
in Raceland at 2 p.m., followed by burial at St. Gertrude Cemetery
in Des Allemands.

| Darensbourg |
Delores Mott Darensbourg, 63, a native of Des Allemands and resident
of Boutte died July 10. A funeral was held on July 17, followed
by burial in the Shell Mount Cemetery in Des Allemands.
She is survived by her father, Albert Mott Sr., of Des Allemands;
one daughter, Deatrice Mott of Boutte; three sons, Sammy and Darrell
Mott, and Alfred Darensbourg III all of Boutte; two sisters,, Anna
Mae Thomas of Raceland, and Alberta Singleton of Harvey; five brothers,
Albert Mott Jr. of Kenner, La., Irvin Mott of Marrero, Michael Mott,
Nolan Mott Sr., and James Mott Sr., of Des Allemands; She is also
survived by thirteen grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Darensbourg Jr.;
mother, Enola Mott; one brother, Lawrence Mott Sr.; three daughters,
Dorothy Allen, Shirley Robinson, and Patricia Mott.
She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

| Deville |
Matt Wayne Deville, Sr., a native and resident of Bayou Gauche,
passed away on July 27. He was 34 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Nicki B. Deville, mother Vera Dufrene
Deville, sons Matt Jr., Erik and Shawn Deville, daughters Ashley
and Tina Deville, brothers Delphan Jr. and Leo James Deville, and
sisters Rhonda Luquette, Thea Witherell and Cindy Wilks. He is preceded
in death by his father, Delphan Deville sr.
Religious services were held on July 30 at Sunset Cemetery, Bayou
Gauche.

| Gaubert |
Leona Redmond Gaubert, a resident of Luling and native of Greensburg,
passed away on July 14. She was 86 years old.
Ms. Gaubert is survived by her sons, Kenneth and Carl Gaubert,
daughters-in-law Shirley and Doris Gaubert, daughter Joann Gaubert,
brother Larry Redmond, grandchildren Kevin, Ricky, Kenny, Gina,
Gery and Garrett, and great-grandchildren Ryan, Kolby, Kelsey, Kadin,
Brandi and Brock. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward
Gaubert, parents Willie and Minnie Lou Foster Redmond, daughter-in-law
Pearl Heurtin Gaubert, brothers Floyd, Bob and Wilson Redmond and
sister Jeanie Redmond.
Religious services were held on July 16 at Luling United Methodist
Church, followed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery.

Annie C. Gendusa died on July 16 at Canon Hospice. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Nick Gendusa, brothers Mike and Nick Catanzro,
one great-granddaughter and one great-great granddaughter. She is
survived by her son, Frank Genduse of Franklinton, daughters Sarah
Ann King of Dallas, Frances Massa of Abita Springs, Rose Marie Pamisano
of Laplace and Patricia Lynn Stewart of Venus, Texas, sisters Felicie
Catanzaro of St. Rose, Mary Boder of Kenner and Lena Leggio of Metarie,
15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 20 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests memorials made to Canon Hospice.

| Horne |
Albert Durwood Horne, age 80, died on July 20 in Pontchatoula.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tom & Cheryl
Horne of LaPlace, Don and Debbie Horne of Springhill, and Ronnie
and Marilyn Horne of Tampa, Fla.; sister Betty Jane Douglas of Canton,
Miss.; grandchildren Jeanne, Danielle, Jamie and Ollie Horne. He
was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and was a Mason.
Services were held on July 23 at Canton Cemetery in Canton, Miss.

| Keeling |
David Frederic Keeling, a native of Moultrie, Ga. and a resident
of Bayou Gauche, passed away on July 10. He was 58 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen E. Field, parents Mary Elizabeth
and David W. Keeling, sons John Eric Keeling and David Z. Keeling
and sisters Sandra Pellaton and Linda Chappell. Mr. Keeling was
an active member of a 12-step fellowship and an avid fisherman who
loved cooking his catch for his friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on July 17 at 3 p.m. at the Fellowship
Hall of Union Presbyterian Church in Luling. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests donations be made to Unity Church, P.O. Box
8732, Metaire, La., 70011.

Ernestine Marie Mongrue, a native of Ama and
resident of Destrehan, passed away on July 2. She was 103 years
old.
Mrs. Mongrue is survived by her sons, William
Jr., Kearney and Leo Mongrue, daughter Sophie Braud, 15 grandchildren
and 29 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband,
William Mongrue Sr., parents Louis and Grazier Falgout Roux, brothers
Frank, Clinton and John Roux and sisters Lucy Lauve and Louise Friloux.
Funeral services were held on July 5 at St.
Anthony Church in Luling, followed by burial in St. Charles Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.

George Howard Poprick passed away on July 17 at Canon Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Poche Poprick of New Sarpy, daughters
Vicki Catalano and Darlene Desselle of Metairie, sister Ann Weaver
of Erin, Tenn., brothers John Poprick Sr. of Philadelphia and Albert
Poprick Sr. of Fort Myers, Fla., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at St. Charles Borromeo
Catholic Church in Destrehan. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to
12 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.

Sue
Batson Tesch, a native of Marked Tree, Ark., and resident of Luling,
passed away on July 24. She is survived by her husband, Howard Tesch,
father Aubrey M. Batson Sr. and son Brandon M. Mitchell. She is preceded
in death by her bother, Sylvia Haley Batson. Mrs. Tesch was a production
tech at Dow Chemical. Private graveside services will be held at a
later date. |
| Troxler |
Leonard “Frog-Eye” Troxler, a native of Ama
and resident of Waggaman for 55 years, passed away on July 7. He
was 75 years old.
Mr. Troxler was the husband of Stella Lauve
Troxler, father and father-in-law of Sandra T. and Irvin J. Friloux
Jr., Ricky M. and Cathy R. Troxler, David M. and Charlene S. Troxler,
Elaine T. and the late Randy W. Barnes, and Tommy J. and Donna E.
Troxler; grandfather of Bambi Simoneaux, Irby Petit III, Cami Troxler,
Ryder Troxler, Clint Troxler, Katie Troxler, Jessica Barnes, Joey
Troxler and Jason Troxler; great-grandfather of Torey and Julianna
Simoneaux; son of the late Lionel Sr. and Ezilda Troxler; brother
of Lionel Troxler Jr., Virgil Robert, Bennie Troxler and the late
Earl and Warren Troxler.
Mr. Troxler was a retired welder with Shell
Oil and a parishoner at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Interment
was at Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale.

| Wilson |
George E. Wilson Sr., “Papa George,” of 204 Asphodel Drive, Dothan,
Ala. died on July 30 at Flowers Hospital with his family by his
side. He was 79 years old.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 2 at First Baptist Church with
Dr. James Reed officiating. Burial was held at Memory Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson was born on Feb. 13, 1925, in Lucien, Miss. He was
one of 14 children. He moved to south Louisiana as a child and remained
there throughout his young adult life. That is where he met his
wife of 53 years, Betty Jane Mahoney. They resided in Dothan for
almost 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Dothan and a member of the Masonic Order. George was a man of many
professions. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a welder, jeweler,
businessman, husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to
many. He was an avid Christian, outdoorsman and loved spending time
with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Wilson, children Steve Wilson
and his wife Annette, George E. Wilson Jr. and his wife Debbie,
all of Dothan, daughter Pam Smith and her husband Gary of Norco,
Kathy Danburg and husband Dr. Danny Danberg of Baton Rouge, grandchildren
Stephanie Wilson Price, Melissa Wilson and Amanda Wilson of Dothan,
George “Trey” Wilson III, Josh Wilson, Brad Wilson and Brooke Wilson
of Dothan, Gary Smith Jr. and Rebecca Smith of Norco, Dan Danburg
III and Jay Danburg of Baton Rouge, brother Huey Wilson and sisters
Maude Gilbert, Neil Brister and Lois Sells of Baton Rouge, and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Jeanne G. Zeringue, age 93, passed away on
July 18. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hampden J. Zeringue,
and was a devoted mother and parishoner of St. Charles Borromeo
Church.
She was daughter of Orvillian Guillot and
Louise Fremin, sister of the late Percy, Robert, Claude, George,
David, Marie Sareussen, Eugenia Krebs and Lydia Munson; mother and
mother-in-law of Hampden Zeringue, Jr. and Merrill Richard, Sylvia
Lambert and Patrick Robert Lambert, Donald Zeringue and Lynn and
Patricia Zeringue; grandmother of Patrick, Rachel, Jeffrey, Jennifer,
Daniel, Michelle Spielman and Michael, great-grandmother of Koty
and Kaitlyn Lambert.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St.
Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan on July 20, followed by interment
at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Masses or
donations to Norco Adult Day Care Center, 425 Spruce St., Norco,
La. 70079, are preferred.
