| Autin |
Whitney Joseph Autin Sr., former resident of Luling and a resident
of Metairie, died on July 2. He was 76.
Autin was the beloved husband of Rita Hebert Autin. He is survived
by sons, Whitney J. Autin Jr., and daughter, Cynthia Autin Eliser.
He was the brother of Loveless Autin, Lawrence Autin and Luby Robichaux.
He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was the son of the late Levis and Melvina Daigle Autin. He
was preceded in death by his brothers, Loney, Clifton, Hubert, and
Ernest Autin, and his sisters, Eula Sapia and Mildred Autin.
Autin was a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of VFW Post 370
of Luling, and a member Teamster local 270 of New Orleans.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 5 at St. Mary Catholic
Church in Raceland. Entombment followed at the church cementery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice
of Greater New Orleans.

| Candies |
Cory Lyn Candies, a resident
of Des Allemands, died on Thursday. She was 26.
Candies was the beloved daughter of Spencer
and Bessie Cortez Candies. She is survived by her son Kerry and
her daughter Abby. She was the sister of Troy Majoria, Kasi Candies
and Heather Cortez.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday
at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Entombement followed at St. Gertrude
Cemetery.

| Dufrene |
Hazel J. Dufrene, a native
of Killona and a resident of Bayou Gauche, died on July 22. She
was 75.
Dufrene is survived by sons, Carel Jr. and
Gregory Dufrene; daughters, Angie Perkins and April Dufrene; brothers,
Larry Deroche and Lawrence Deroche; sisters, Clara Deubler, Thelma
Michot, Hope Guidry, and Grace Shifflett; ten grandchildren; and
11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Carol Dufrene; parents, Waldo and Elvire Madere Deroche; brother,
Joseph Deroche; sisters, Aline Hebert and Ethel Zimmerman; and two
deceases grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday,
July 24 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis, where
she was a parishioner. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Bayou
Gauche. Falgout Funeral Homes of Raceland was in charge of arrangements.

| Landeche |
Grace Margaret DeRose Landeche died on July
25. She was a resident of Norco for the past 48 years.
Landeche was the beloved wife of Roy Joseph Landeche of Norco
and beloved mother of Jacquelyn Landeche Madere of Laplace. Other
surviving family members include her sister Phyllis DeRose Richarme
of Jefferson, son-in-law Jacques Rene Madere of Laplace, granddaughter
Nicole Madere Schulin of Kenner, great grandson Nicholas Paul Schulin,
and numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was the daughter of the late
William DeRose, Sr. and the late Phyllis Stritzinger DeRose and
sister of the late Marie DeRose Beauvais and the late William DeRose,
III.
Funeral services were held Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church
in Norco. Entombment followed at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum
in Destrehan. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.

| Lee |
Rose Crochet Lee, a resident of Des Allemands,
died on July 22. She was 47.
Lee is survived by her husband Dovice “T-Paul”
Lee; sons, Timothy and Justin Lee; stepson, Paul Lee; daughter,
Rosa Lee; step daughter, Donna Bergeron; brothers, Edgar P., Melvin
A., Roy J. Richard J., and Peter F. Crochet; step brother, David
M. Mullins; sisters, Paula Benoit; step sisters, Frani Mullins and
Goldie Mullins; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
Roy and julie Zeller Crochet; and sister, Annette Mullins.
Religious services were held on Tuesday, July
23 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church. Cremation followed. Falgout
Funeral Homes of Raceland was in charge of arrangements.

| Matherne |
Ruth “Bobbie” Troxler Matherne, a lifelong
resident of St. Charles Parish, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday
July 17 at the Ormond Nursing and Care Center. She was 74.
Matherne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Sidney J. “Snake”
Matherne; four sons, Eldon “Boogie” Matherne, Ronald Matherne, Mitchell
Matherne, Jimmy Matherne and one daughter, Sydney Ann Matherne Martin;
sister, Hilda Cotton” Troxler Vinterella and a host of nieces and
nephews; 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia Faucheux Troxler
and Leo Troxler, Sr., and her sister and brother, Beatrice Troxler
Jordan and Leo Troxler, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated
on Saturday, July 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco. Interment
followed at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan. The family
would like to extend a special thank you to Ormond Nursing and Care
Center for all the loving care given to their mother and to them.

| Robichaux |
Madeliene
“Blackie” Miranda Robichaux, a long time resident of Norco, passed
away on Saturday, July 20. She was 75.
Robichaux was a member of the American Legion
Auxiliary and an employee of Winn Dixie in Ormond. She was the beloved
sister of Marie Johnson and the late Sam and Anthony Miranda, 32
nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces
and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday,
July 23 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. Interment
followed at Garden of Memories in Metairie. Special thanks to Kenner
Regional Medical Center for their loving care and support during
her illness.

| Walker |
Lawrence A. Walker, a lifelong resident of Norco, died on Tuesday.
He was 85.
He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Ruth Brock Walker.
He is survived by his daughters Sandee Murphy, Becky Roussel, and
Laura Walker; his son-in-laws Pat Mrurphy and Ted Roussel; his grandchildren
Jeremy, Kane and Janel Walker, and Benjamin, Teddy and Kellie Roussel;
and his great grandchildren Claire and Jake Murphy.
He is also survived by his brother Rudolph “Bud” Walker and his
sisters Marguerite “Daisy” Haynes and Georgette Chauvin and a host
of neices and nephews.
Walker was a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of the American
Legion Post #195. He was a retired employee of Kaiser Aluminum.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday at St. Charles
Borromeo. Interment followed at St. Charles Borromeo Mausolem in
Destrehan. The family extends special appreciation to Metropolitan
Home Health and River Region Hospice.

| Wood |
Ruth LeBlanc Wood of Paradis died on Sunday. She was 69.
Wood was cherished by her sons, Barney Mullins Jr. and Owen Mullins
and her daughter Vanessa Folse. She is survived by her sisters,
Helen Meneley, Daisy Comardelle, Rosemary LeBlanc, Agnes Galliano
and Theresa Evans. She had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Norbert and Clarice Hebert
LeBlanc, and her siblings Van Joseph (V.J.) LeBlanc, Larry LeBlanc,
and Clara LeBlanc.

| Zeringue |
Dave Joseph Zeringue, a resident of Hahnville, died on July 28.
He was 58.
Beloved son of Beulah Webre Zeringue and Henry Anthony Zeringue;
father of Christopher Zeringue and Quinn Zeringue; brother of Janice
Gaspard and Janet Edwards; and uncle of John Melancon and Michael
Bathgate.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 11 a.m. at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Interment will follow in St.
Charles Mausoleum in Luling. Visitation will take place from 9:30
a.m. until mass time.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of the St.
Charles Sheriff’s Office are invited to attend. Westside/Leitz-Eagan
Funeral Home of Marrero is in charge of arrangements.
