| Andrews |
Marian Lambert Andrews, a native of Warren, Ark. and resident of
Baton Rouge, died on Jan. 14. She was 87 years old.
Mrs. Andrews was a loving and devoted life who touched the lives
of many. She was a retired school teacher who taught in Warren and
Luling. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rupert “Andy”
Andrews and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her parents,
John P. and Lidabelle Lambert. She enjoyed music and painting.
Religious Services were held on Jan. 15 at Community Bible Church.
Interment was held at Oakland Cemetery in Warren, Ark. on Jan. 1.

| Comardelle |
Lester Joseph Comardelle, a native of Des Allemands and resident
of Bayou Gauche, passed away on Jan. 12. He was 84 years old.
He is survived by his sons, Clarence, Norman, Loveless and Luther
Comardelle Sr., daughters Susie St. Claire and Niki Ferguson, sister
Jeanne C. Dufrene, 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Dufrene Comardelle,
parents Marc Alcide and Louise Dufrene Comardelle, brothers Roy,
Fergust, Peter and Ludwig Comardelle, sisters Esther C. Dufrene,
Martha C. Matherne and Selina C. Morehouse and one grandson.
Religious services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Falgout Funeral
Home in Raceland, followed by burial at Sunset Cemetery in Bayou
Gauche.

| Cullen |
Anita Waguespack Cullen, a native of Vacherie and resident of Luling,
passed away on Jan. 2 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. She was 64
years old.
She was the beloved wife of Curtis J. Cullen, Jr., mother of Maureen
(David) Pizzolato, Allison (Charles) Cullen, Curt (Bobbi) Cullen,
Dori (Scott) Porter and the late Kelley (Steve) Songy. Daughter
of the late Otis Jean and Anita Marie Waguespack. Daughter-in-law
of Curtis J. Sr. and the late Doris Cullen, sister of Aimee (Shug)
Becnel, Jean Otis Waguespack, Lucille Gravois and Janet Bonvillain,
grandmother of David Pizzolato Jr., Cullen Gordon, Curtis “C.J.”
and Caitlyn Cullen, Haley Porter and Hannah Songy.
Mrs. Cullen was a retired school teacher for the St. Charles Parish
Public School System and was instrumental in starting the Adult
Education System of St. Charles Parish. She was a graduate of St.
James High School. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education at
USL. She was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Altar Society
and the church choir where she had a love for music. She was a volunteer
for the Madere’s Children Advocacy Center and a HOST Mentor with
the St. Charles Parish School System.
Mass was held on Jan. 4 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church
in Luling. Memorial Donations can be made to the American Cancer

| Denny |
George Denny Jr., a laborer, died on Jan. 14 in a train accident
in Des Allemands. He was 44.
Denny was born in New Orleans and lived in Des Allemands. He attended
L.B. Landry High School. He is survived by his fiancé, Carolyn Bolden,
sons George and Zachery Noil, daughters Georgia Noil, Tamara Bolden
and Candis Banks, mother Catherine Denney Lyons, brother Danny Denney,
sisters Malinda Lyons, Felice Denney, Paula Willford and Tammy Hammons,
and two grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Jan. 21 at Worded Up Faith Ministry in Algiers.

Geary Joseph Deroche, age 75, died on Jan. 17 at St. Charles Hospital.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Garnet Simoneaux, Espazle
Quinn and Pearl Deroche, and brother Leroy Deroche. He is survived
by his wife, Donna Deroche of Luling, son Craig Deroche of Biloxi,
Miss., daughter Dana M. Deroche of Mandeville, brothers Gerald and
Daniel Deroche of Green Acres, sisters Ruby Corriell of Des Allemands,
Maebelle Hogan of Bayou Gauche, Lois Forrest of Green Acres and
Barbara Weinkauf of McCob, Miss., and grandson Mark Edward Deroche.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 21 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, followed by entombment at
St. Charles Mausoleum.

| Gaupp |
Wayne Gaupp, a local community activist and founder
of the St. Charles Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse, passed
away of a long illness on Jan. 9. She was 73 years old.
Gaupp was a native of Oxford, Miss., and a resident of New Orleans
and Destrehan for 55 years. She was instrumental in the founding
of the Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and helped secure
the building which became the John Madere Advocacy Center.
Gaupp is survived by her husband, Dr. Myles K. Gaupp Sr., her
son, Dr. Myles K. Gaupp Jr. and his wife Rita, her daughter Karen
Gaupp-Wozniak and her husband John, and her daughter Stephanie G.
Johnson and her husband Tony, her grandchildren Lindsay Johnson,
Cala Wozniak, Kristina Wozniak, Jill Williams and Eric Williams,
great-granddaughter Haley Williams and her sister, Ruby Camburn.
She is preceded in death by her son, Gregory Duncan.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 12, followed by interment at
the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests contributions be made to the Madere Advocacy
Center and the St. Charles Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse,

| Gordon-Stennett |
Kendra Rae Gordon-Stennett, age 30, of Miamisburg passed away Thursday,
January 6, 2005 at Sycamore Hospital. She was born June 12, 1974
in New Orleans, LA to Sherman and Okathleen Gordon.
Kendra graduated from Hahnville High School in 1992. She served
in the U.S. Navy for four years. She also attended Sinclair Community
College, Dayton, Ohio.
A devout member of Greater Harvest Church, she served as an anointed
and gifted praise and worship leader. She was also the coordinator
of the Young Adult Fellowship. Always industrious, she was employed
for five years by Paxar Corporation, Miamisburg, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Paul Alexander
Stennett, Sr. One son, Paul Alexander Stennett, Jr.. Parents Sherman
and Okathleen Gordon. Two sisters, Ashanti and Tanya Davis. One
brother, Eric James Gordon. Paternal grandmother, Ethel M. Borne.
Sister-in-law, Eleanor Roxanna Stennett. Brother-in-laws, Brian
and Bobby Stennett. Godparents, James and Erleen Valentine. A host
of relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday; January 11, 2005, at 11:00 am at Front
Street Church of God, 111 Front Street, Hamilton, OH. Funeral service
followed at noon. Pastor George Evans, officiating. Arrangements

Michel Joseph “Cado” Guedry Sr., age 75, died on Jan. 20. He is
survived by his son, Michel J. Guedry Jr., daughters Debbie Roussel,
Donna Guedry and Melanie Duvic, sons-in-law Kent Roussel and Kevin
Duvic, daughter-in-law Liz Alexandra Guedry, brothers Roger Guedry
and Sidney Guedry, sisters Josephaine Barient Edith Ancale and Carol
Sutton, grandchildren Tiffany Coyle, Kent Roussel Jr., Blake Duvic,
Destiny Duvic and Courtney Duvic and great-grandchildren Bryce Caver,
Baleigh Caver and Brooke Coyle and companion Modesta Gagliano. He
is preceded in death by his wife Floriska “Icky” Simoneaux Guedry.
He was a member of the American Legion.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 24 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, followed by entombment at
the church mausoleum.

Lester Joseph Hebert of Luling died on Jan.
7.
Mr. Hebert was the beloved husband of Sibyl
LeCompte Hebert, father of Angela Duet, Kevin Hebert and Lisa Barrow,
brother of Alvin Hebert Jr., son of the late Alvin Hebert Sr. and
beulah Dufrene Hebert, grandfather of Matthew Duet, Katie Duet,
Justin Hebert, Tyler Hebert and Haley Hebert.
A Funeral Mass was held on Jan. 10 at Holy
Family Catholic Church in Luling, followed by interment at St. Charles
Cemetery.

Kermit Joseph Kraemer Sr., age 86 years, died on Jan. 31 at St.
Elizabeth Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and
stepmother, Theodore and Melaine Rodrigue Kraemer and Clementine
Peltier Kraemer; wife Madeline Dugas Kraemer, brothers Norvin, Chester
and Clyde Kraemer and sisters Loredia K. Duhe and Grace Kraemer.
He is survived by his sons, Norvin and Kermit Kraemer Jr., daughter
Gail K. Grob, sister Ruby K. Morton, seven grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kraemer was a lifelong member of the St. James Boat Club,
a lifelong member of the Pontchatoula Fire Department, a lifetime
member of the Louisiana State Fireman’s Association and a member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5852 and the Freeport Retirees
Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Paulina.

Elvira Breaud Laurent died on Jan. 30 in LaPlace. She was 98 years
old.
Born on Sept. 3, 1906 in Edgard, she was the wife of the late
Robley D. Laurent, daughter of the late John Sylvester Breaud and
Eliza Faucheux Breaud, mother and mother-in-law of the late Ewell
and Lorrie Laurent, Robley Jr. and Margaret Lewis and Mary Ida,
Kermit and Debbie Laurent, sister of the late Regina Brashear, Theresa
Carmelick, Marie Zeringue, Robert Dennis Sr., Alfred, Wilbert and
Octave Breaud, grandmother of Duan and Kevin Laurent, Ellen Mock,
Cynthia Robert, Anne Miranda and the late Laurelle Laurent, Dean
Laurent, Celeste Corbell, Jan Williams, and the late Scott LAurent,
Stephanie Brown, Jeffrey Laurent and the late Jennifer Laurent.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 1 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Norco followed by entombment at St. Charles Borromeo
Mausoleum.

Pauline “Lenie” Phillip Lynch died on Jan. 28. She was 51.
A native of New Orleans and resident of Luling, she was the beloved
daughter of the late Theresa Gambio and Victor Philip. She is survived
by her husband of 30 years, Joseph Louis Lynch Sr., daughter Melissa
Ann Lynch, son Joseph Louis Lynch Jr., brothers Paul Anthony Phillip
and Victor “Buddy” Phillip and sisters Theresa Phillip, Marie Phillip
Hogh and Margaret Phillip Hunter. She was recently retired from
AT&T.
Private services were held at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in Metairie.

Gerard L. Oubre, a native and resident of Hahnville,
died on Jan. 17. He was 62 years old.
He is survived by his sons, Blaine and Britten
Oubre, brothers Charles Jr., Gail, Roland and Bernard Oubre, sisters
Susie and Sandra Oubre and four grandchildren. He is preceded in
death by his parents, Charles and Felicie Keller Oubre.
A parishoner of Holy Rosary Church in Hahnville,
Mr. Oubre was a veteran of the U.S. AirForce, a member of American
Legion Post 131 of Luling, a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana
University and a school teacher with the St. Charles Parish Public
School System.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today
at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville,
follwed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery.

Adele Dufresne Richard, age 94, passed away on Jan. 22 in Ormond
Nursing Center, Destrehan. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Merrill Richard Zeringue, and by
grandchildren Michael Zeringue and Michelle Z. Spielman. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Paul Richard, and her son, Paul
C. Richard Jr. She was born in LaPlace and lived in Norco for the
past 69 years. She was the daughter of the late Albert Dufresne
and Louise Camore, the sister of Marie Louise Hanson of Martinez,
Calif., and the late Clarence, Henry and Wilton Dufresne, Evena
Louquette, Willie Millet, Thelma Blank and Vivian Landry.
Adele Richard was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in
Norco, where she served as a member of the Altar Society and the
Ministry of Care. She was a member of the St. Charles Art Guild,
the German Acadian Coast Historical Society and the Bonnet Carre
Garden Club. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a Cub Scout Leader.
As the spouse of Paul Richard of Richard’s Department Store, she
worked in many capacities of buying, selling, window trimming and
alterations.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Charles Borromeo Church
in Destrehan on Jan. 26., followed by interment at St. Charles Borromeo
Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.

Marie DiGirolamo Robert, age 84, died on Jan. 26 at River Parish
Hospital in LaPlace. She was the wife of the late Harold D. Robert.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Nancy D.
Robert, daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Kirt A. Jacob, brothers
Sal and Nick DiGirolamo, sisters Sadie D. Trosclair, Grace D. Giroir,
Josie D. Mire and Rose D. Songy, grandchildren Tina J. Brouwor,
Kirt A. Jacob Jr., Brad J. Robert and Ryan J. Robert, great-grandchildren
Justin DuBose, Luke and Courtney Brouwer, Payton and Jessica Jacob
and Jo’lee Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 28 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Norco. Entombment was at St. Charles Borromeo
in Destrehan.

Mabel May Robicheaux, age 98, died on Jan. 39 in Destrehan. She
was a former resident of New Hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Aline Robicheaux.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Celine Nederveld, Joyce
Zehnle, Guy Jr., Charles, Robert, Francis and David Robicheaux.
She served as a nurse in World War II. Her rank was Lieutenant,
and she served in the Africa and Italy campaigns. She was a member
of the American Legion Spillway Post 195.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held tomorrow at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan at 11 a.m. Visitation will
begin at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo
Mausoleum.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation
to her caregivers, especially Liz, Della and Rose. In lieu of flowers,
masses are preferred.

Dorothy Joachim Simon, age 82, died on Jan.
21 at 11 p.m. Beloved wife of the late John F. Simon, mother of
Dorothy S. Loga and Gaynell S. Melerine, daughter of the late Marie
Dauterive Joachim and Albert A. Joachim, sister of the late Albert
J. Joachim and Helen Soniat, grandmother of Keith H. Loga, Sr. and
Randy and Kevin Melarine. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Simon was a former resident of St. Bernard Parish and a resident
of LaPlace for the past seven years.
Funeral Services were held on Jan. 25 at HC
Alexander Funeral Home in Norco, followed by interment at St. John
Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

Virginia “Tee Nanny” Myles Smith, a homemaker,
died on Jan. 27 of lung cancer at her home in Boutte. She was 62.
Mrs. Smith was born in Lucy and lived in Boutte. She is survived
by her mother, Thelma Pierre, sons James Smith III and Gregory Smith,
daughters Deidre Taylor and Vanessa Smith, brothers Alvin Darensbourg
and Leroy Myles, sisters Audrey Joseph, Joan White, Deborah LeBeauf,
Shirley and Dorothy Myles and Melanie Johnson, 18 grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Feb. 3 at Antioch Baptist
Church in Des Allemands, followed by burial at Shell Mound Cemetery.
