Allemand

Jaques Paul Allemand, a native and resident of Lockport, passed away on Feb. 27. He was 24 years old.

Mr. Allemand is survived by his parents, Lester Anthony and Edna Hebert Allemand, brother Nathan J. Allemand, sister Dana Margaret Allemand, niece Amanda Allemand and nephew Donavan Allemand. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 3 at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport.

Allen

Suzanne Eschete Allen, a native of Houma and resident of Ponchatoula, passed away on Feb. 22. She was 46 years old.

A resident of Paradis from 1975 through 1986, Mrs. Allen graduated from E.D. White Catholic High School in 1974.

She is survived by her husband, Donald James Allen, and son, Travis Charles Allen, of Ponchatoula, parents Charles Victor and Barbara Marie (Badeaux) Eschete of Thibodaux, brothers Tommy Eschete and Brian Eschete of Thibodaux and Chris Eschete of Mandeville and sister Rachelle Wolford of Houston.

Services were held on Feb. 26 at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula.

Badeaux

Gladys P. Badeaux passed away on Feb. 12. She was 92 years old.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Agnes Verret Perilloux, husband Lolan J. Badeaux, Sr., daughter Gladys Mae Carmouche, son Lolan j. “Blue” Badeaux Jr., sisters Joyce P. Weaner, Ethel Mae Lewis, Olga Bourg and brothers Jules, Stanley, Burton and Arthur “Treasure” Perilloux and grandson Michael Carmouche. She is survived by her daughter, Levern Pecora, brother Leroy Perilloux, grandchildren Johnny, Barry and Larry Carmouche, Joan C. Bird, Jean C. Aucoin, Robin C. Priest, Chuck and Bryan Perilloux, Kathy P. Clement, Ralph, Charleston, Jeffrey, Lolan III Badeaux and Lori B. Duplessis, 32 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Badeaux was a devoted member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a member of the Ladies Alter Society. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Odyssey Hospice, Ormond Nursing and Care Center and Jennifer Mancuso, Shawn Madere and Tami Knight.

Bonnette

Dolores Maria Vial Davila Bonnette, native of Hahnville and 75-year resident of New Orleans, passed away on Feb. 3. She was 94 years old.

Mrs. Vial is preceded in death by first husband Louis A. Davila, second husband Lance Bonnette, parents Irma Martin Vial and Sheriff Leon C. Vial Sr. and sister Inez Vial Tinney. She is survived by brothers Sheriff Leon C. Vial Jr., James P. Vial Sr., Lester Vial and Charles Vial, sister Marguerite Vial Montz, and nieces and nephews including Dr. David J. Vial, Leon C. Vial III, Dr. Sidney Montz, Celeste Montz Tanner, Irma Vial Brou, Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon, Irma Tinney Dubroca, Shirley Tinney Dubroca, Dr. Lester Vial, Dr. Richard Vial and Dr. Wayne Vial.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Lakelawn Metarie Funeral Home on Feb. 4.

Friloux

Moise D. Friloux, native of Ama and resident of New Sarpy, passed away on Feb. 25. He was 78 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Perilloux Friloux, son Gerard his wife Robbin, son Kim and his wife Phillis, daughter Frances and her husband Steven Mire, daughter Lisa and her husband Lennen Madere, sisters Theresa “Bunny” Petit and Ann Zeringue, brother Timmy Friloux, brother-in-law Larry Perilloux, grandchildren Michelle, Travis and Timmy Mire, Katie, Amy and Allison Friloux and Shelby, Lauryn and Lennen R. Madere. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Louise Roux Friloux, and his brothers, Albert and Harold Friloux.

Mr. Friloux was retired from the Norco Construction Company and served as a SI/C in the Navy aboard the USS Chester during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion and a parishoner of St. Charles Borromeo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan.

Hamilton

Abe “Boog” Hamilton, 81, a native and resident of Raceland, passed away on Feb. 1.

He is survived by one son, Lawrence Hamilton of Patterson; one daughter, Lisa Hamilton of Des Allemands; four stepdaughters, Barbara Folse of Raceland, Bertha Johnson, Eula Thomas and Shirley Martin, all of Thibodaux; two sisters, Rosa Hamilton of Raceland and Mildred Dabney of New Orleans; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Young Hamilton, parents James and Lydia Lewis-Hamilton, brothers Eldred, Samuel and Joseph Stewart, and sisters Elizdia Parker, Oliska Burke, Rebecca Mott and Alice Hamilton.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist church and served on the Deacon Board.

Funeral services were held on Feb. 8 with burial at Morristown Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.

Humphries Barbara Crooks Dore Humphries passed away on Feb. 2. She is survived by her husband, Hulon E. Humphries; two sons, Aymar J. Dore and Randy Humphries; three daughters, Diane Dore Plaisance, Doris Dore Dugas and Sandra Kinler; two brothers, William Crooks and Johnny Crooks; three sisters, Allie V Campbell, Nobie Wallace and Ramona Crooks; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey. Burial was at the St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling.
Kaiser

Brian A. Kaiser, native of Faribalt, Minn. and resident of Norco, passed away on Feb. 26. He was 80 years old.

He is survived by son Steve and wife Melissa, son Ken and wife Sue, daughter Sharon and husband John Mapes and son Patrick and wife Mary and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jenny O’Brien Kaiser, and wife Lois McMurry Kaiser.

Mr. Kaiser was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard in World War II, a graduate of Loyola University and retired from Shell Oil with 38 years of service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco.

LaCroix

Lena Busalacchi LaCroix, born October 24, 1899, passed away on Feb. 20 in Luling. She was 103 years old.

Beloved wife of the late Alphonse A. LaCroix, daughter of the late Gaetano and Frances Busalacchi, sister of the late Thomas, Frank, Salvadore and John Busalacchi and Annie Lasalvo, Mary Ann Cuccia, Mary Lussan and Josephine Gardey. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A native of Plaquemine and a resident of St. Charles Parish since 1900, she was devoted to her Catholic religion and had a love of music. She played the organ for St.Anthony’s Catholic Church for 72 years and received the Louis Medallion for her many years of service. She was extremely community minded and had a love for others which led her to spend a quarter of a century of service at St. Charles Parish Hospital. She was the recipient of several awards, including the Veteran's Administration award for her hospital work, St. Charles Parish Rotary Club Citizen of the Year in 1993, J.C. Penny Golden Rule Award in 1996 and was Grand Marshall of the Krewe of Lul in 1997.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling on Feb. 22 Interment was at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.

Millet

Christine Nichols Millet passed away on Feb. 3. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Arthur Joseph Millet, daughter Ann Marie Millet, godchild Holly Anita Elizabeth Manasco, sister Sybil Lander, brother Thomas Ray Nichols, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Edward Johnston, sisters Bertha Lee Terrell, Alinie Dixion, Idell Verda, Anita “Billie” Manasco and brother Carl Nichols.

Visitation was held on Feb. 5 and 6 at Alexander Funeral Home of Lutcher, followed by interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose.

Murphy

Florence A. Murphy, a native of Kansas City, Mo. and a resident of LaPlace and Antwerp, Ohio, passed away on Feb. 9. She was 82 years old.

Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Angola Tri-State Business College in Indiana, a member of VFW Antwerp Post 5087 and the Wooland Community Church in LaPlace.

She is survived by her son, David Murphy, daughters Colleen Longardner, Linda Alspaugh and Susan Hines, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held on Feb. 15 at Woodland Community Church in LaPlace.

Robin

Norman Joseph Robin, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, passed away on Feb. 15. He was 87 years old.

Mr. Robin is survived by his wife, Nora Toups Robin, sons Floyd and Danny Robin, daughters Nellie McBride and Nora Danos, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Edverine Robin, and brothers Vincent III and Eugene Robin.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 17 at Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Church in Larose.

Stephens

Fred Leroy Stephens, a native of Birmingham, Ala. and resident of Des Allemands, passed away on Feb. 23. He was 87 years old.

Mr. Stephens is survived by his brother, Paul L. Stephens, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grand children and three great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margurite Cornwell Stephens, parents Zach and Rosalee Johnson Stephens, stepson Leland Stephens, daughter Clara Lee Stephens Candies, brother J.W. Stephens and sister Ruby L. Snyder. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Religious services were held on Feb. 26 at Des Allemands Baptist Church.

Tassin

Phillip Bobby Tassin, Sr., of Norco, passed away on Feb. 18 at the age of 57.

Mr. Tassin is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelien V. “Slim” Tassin and Rosalie Tamurello Tassin, and his brother, Kenneth Tassin. He is survived by his wife, Linda Cook Tassin, son Phillip B. Tassin, Jr. and Elaine Tassin Fitzgerald and Theresa Tassin Judd, stepdaughters Barbara Walker Dufrene and Jean Walker Tassin, brother Aurelien V. “A.J.” Tassin, sisters Joanne Tassin Caronna, Diane Tassin, Debra Tassin Waguespack, six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 20 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.
