| Bordelon |
Alice Mildred Bordelon died Dec. 1 in Gonzales,
La. She was 80.
Bordelon was a native of Lebanon, Kansas and
a resident of Gonzales. She was the wife of James Bordelon. She
was preceded in death by her first husband, Percy E. Bourgeois.
Daughter of the late George and Dolly Brown. Mother of Cynthia Wall
of Nashville, Sandra Lockwood of LaPlace, Becky Hyde of Prairieville,
and Bruce Bourgeois of Gonzales. She was the sister of Melvin Brown,
Alvin Brown, Harold Brown, Lyne Brown, and Louise Brown. Sister-in-law
of Betty Wagner. Also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today
at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church in LaPlace. Visitation will
be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment is in St.
Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco
is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be made to the American Heart Association.

| Brown |
Vonceil J. Brown, 91, of El Dorado, Ark., passed away on Dec. 14.
Born Oct. 26, 1912, she was the daughter of Robert Eli Jackson and
Molsie Vinson Jackson. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mark
United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luther Ryan
Brown, sister Versa Miller and four grandchildren. Mrs. Brown is
survived by three sons, Bill and John Brown of El Dorado and Tom
Brown of Marysvilel, Ark.; daughter Frances Rankin of Hammond, 18
grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 17 at Young’s Funeral Directors
Chapel, followed by burial at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials
may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2010 W. Hillsboro,
El Dorado, AR. 71730.

| Caravella |
Rosalie Ann Caravella, a retired employee of International Matex
Tank Terminals, passed away on Dec. 23 at St. Charles Parish Hospital.
She was 79 years old.
Rosalie Caravella was a lifelong resident of St. Rose and a parishoner
at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She is survived by her
brother, Peter I. Caravella, and sister Mazie Caravella Gillette.
A Mass of Christian Burial was said last week at St. Charles Borromeo
Church.

| Christen |
Vivan R. Christen, a native of New Iberia and resident of Des Allemands,
passed away on Dec. 17. She was 83 years old.
She is survived by her son, Barry Christen, daughter Mary Christen
Prejean, brothers Marnell and Errol Robichaux, two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Louis L. Christen, parents Arthur and Rita D. Robichaux and sister
Doris Robichaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Dec. 19 at St. Gertrude
Catholic Church in Des Allemands.

Mathilda B. Dufrene, a resident of Hammond and former resident
of Bayou Gauche, passed away on Dec. 25. She was 83 years old.
She is survived by her son, Lyle Paul Dufrene, daughters JoAnn
D. Naquin and Rosaline D. Kozero, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren
and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by
her husband, Dewey John Dufrene, parents Norbert Bourgeois Sr. and
Josephine Dufrene Bourgeois, sons Fredrick Joseph Dufrene and Darries
Dufrene, brother Norbert Bourgeois Jr. and sisters Willa Mae Badeaux,
Lillian Dempster, Orelia Dunn and Julienne Matherne.
Religious services were held on Dec. 27 at Falgout Funeral Home
in Raceland.

Roseann Zeller Everett passed away on Dec. 17. She was 36 years
old.
She was the daughter of Bob and Irene Zeller, mother of Jamie
L. Everett, James Everett Jr. and Shawn M. Everett and sister of
Robert Zeller III and Ronald Patrick Zeller. She is also survived
by her grandfather, Robert C. Zeller Sr., aunt Evelyn LaBarde and
uncle Fred Miller and his wife Maria.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 21 at Sacred Heart
of Jesus Church in Norco.

| Hinds |
Hugh Jack Hinds, a retired contract painter,
retired from the U.S. Navy, died on Dec. 7 at home. He was 79 years
old.
Mr. Hinds was born in Anniston, Ala. and lived
in Graceville, Fla. He recently moved to Waggaman to be with family.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Mrs. Thelma
Vinson of Graceville, daughters and sons-in-law William and Jackie
Roberts of Waggaman, Robert and Debra Denny of Lineville, Ala. and
Pat Mosley of Oxford, Ala.; grandchildren Larr and Angela Ammons
of Paradis, Danny Paul Sweat Jr. of Jacksonville, Ala.,and great-grandchildren
Klorissa Ammons of Paradis and Danny Cole Sweat of Jacksonville.
A quiet family and friends service will be
held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12 at 17 Aster Lane, Waggaman. The family
would like to extend a big thanks to River Ridge Hospice and Tammy,
Leonard, Anna and Linda. Thanks so much, God Bless.

| Karter |
Alvin Edward Karter Sr. passed away on Dec. 25 in Metairie. He
was 78 years old. A native of Albany, Ala. and resident of Destrehan,
Mr. Karter was a retired truck driver for Latlack, Inc. and a carpenter.
Mr. Karter was the son of the late Aloysis Henry and Devina McNabb
Karter, husband of Thelma Weldon Karter, father of Donna Ann Bouterie,
Suellen Buckley, Renee A. Champagne and Alvin E. Karter Jr., and
stepfather of Brenda Baily Piano. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Religious services were held on Dec. 29 at Alexander Funeral Home
in Norco.

Doris Benoit Landeche, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Hahnville,
passed away on Dec. 11. She was 79 years old.
She is survived by her sons, Charles “Ray” Landeche Jr., Ralph
Landeche and Perry Landeche, daughters Gail Naquin and Jeanne Arabie,
sister Flora Mae Gaubert, 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Landeche St.,
sons Thomas and John Landeche, brothers Maeneil, Alden and roland
Benoit and sister Inez Boudreaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 15 at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church in Hahnville.

| Martel |
William Howell Martel Sr., a retired printer for the Times-Picayune,
died on Dec. 30 at Ormond Nursing Home in Destrehan. He was 81 years
old.
Mr. Martel was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel T. Martel,
and his parents, Louis Joseph Martel Sr. and Helen Maud Bush. He
was a native and resident of New Orleans and a resident of Luling
since 187. Mr. Martel was a decorated veteran who honorably served
the U.S. Navy as a medic during World War I. He is survived by his
sister, Marjorie Martel Werner, brother Louis J. Martel Jr., sons
William H. “Bill” Martel Jr. and James L. Martel, and three granddaughters,
Marie Martel Fahy, Jennifer Martel Albert and Michelle Marie Martel.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 2 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral
Home. In lieu of flowers, Masses or memorials to the charity of
your choice are preferred.

| Pfister |
Adele Mary Vicnair Pfister, a native of Whitehall and resident
of Norco, passed away on Dec. 29.
Mrs. Pfister is the wife of the late Vincent Joseph Fister, daughter
of the late Felix and Drine Berthelot Vicnair, mother of Sue Schoeler,
V.J. Pfister Jr., Gene Pfister and Roy Pfister. She is preceded
in death by two brothers and survived by 11 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 31 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.

| Raziano |
Benny S. Raziano, a native of Kenner and resident of Luling, passed
away on Dec. 14. He was 77 years old.
Owner of Raziano’s Restaurant and an avid fisherman, Mr. Raziano
loved to decorate his yard for the holidays. He is survived by his
son, Benny Walter Raziano and wife Audrey Champagne Raziano, daughters
Deborah Raziano and Tasha Raziano Treuil and her husband Daniel,
brother James Raziano, sister Grace Raziano Jatho and grandchildren
Angela Raziano and Emma Treuil.
He is preceded in death by hi wife, Anna Mae Himel Raziano, parents
Nick and Nunzia Carona Raziano, brothers Joe, Jules, Vic and Nick
Raziano, and sisters Nellie Ranatza and Vera Faucheux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at noon at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. The family requests donations
be made to the Delta Zeta Sorority Foundation or the Nicholls State
University Foundation.

| Richard |
Paul C. Richard Jr. passed away on Dec. 8 at
Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. He was 62 years old.
A resident of Norco, Mr. Richard was a retired
attorney at law. He contributed to several charities, loved his
church, had an interest in people with physical disabilities and
was proficient in computer artwork. Mr. Richard was a graduate of
Destrehan High School, Louisiana State University and Loyola Law
School, and a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.
He is survived by his mother, Adele D. Richard,
sister Merrill Richard Zeringue, niece Michelle Spielman and nephew
Michael Zeringue. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Richard
Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec.
11 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco, followed by burial
at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Theresa Touro Schouest, a native of Matthews
and a resident of Luling, passed away on Dec. 23. She was 72 years
old.
She is survived by her 12 children, two brothers,
two half-brothers and two sisters. She is preceded in death by her
husband, Albin Schouest, parents Andrew and Adenise Levron Curole
and two half-brothers. Religious services were held on Dec. 26 at
Des Allemands Mennonite Church.
