| Bergeron |
Virgie Marie Cologne Bergeron, a native of
Des Allemands and resident of Houma, passed away on April 1. She
was 74 years old.
She is survived by her daughters, Myra Dupont
and her husband Jerome, Mara Oubre and her husband Richard and Pamela
Ponville and her husband Michael, brother Clifton Cologne and his
wife Genevieve, sister Shirley Bergeron and her husband Kerner,
brother-in-law Edison Plaisance, grandchildren Jason Dupont and
wife Annette, Andrea Dupont, Therell Oubre, Ryan Oubre, Jessica
Aysen and husband Nick, Joshua Ponville and Jackie Ponville. She
was survived, at the time of death, by her sister Irma Plaisance,
who passed away herself the next day.
She is preceded in death by husband Norman
Anthony Bergeron and parents Ernest Anthony Cologne and Lavinia
Loupe Cologne.
She was a parishoner at St. Bernadette Catholic
Church. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 3 at Chauvin
Funeral Home, followed by burial at St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

| Breaux |
Noland Paul “Doogie” Breaux Jr., a native and resident of Bayou
Gauche, passed away on April 30. He was 34 years old.
Mr. Breaux is survived by his parents, Noland P. Breaux Sr. and
Anna Mae Bourgeois Breaux, his step-grandfather Jack Flippo, brother
Derrell Paul Breaux, sister Darnell Breaux Hebert, four nephews
and one niece. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah
Anthony Breaux, Georgia Matherne Flippo and Noah Adam and Gertrude
Plaisance Bourgeois. Mr. Breaux was a member of the Arc of St. Charles
and the Special Olympics.
Services were held on May 4 at Community Assembly of God Church
in Bayou Gauche, followed by burial at Sunset Cemetery.

Darnell
Dawn Ervin Brunner, native of Collins Miss. and former resident of
Luling, passed away on April 12. She was 37 years old. She is survived
by her husband, Lee Brunner, sons Kasey, Chase and Kaleb Brunner,
brother Shane Ervin, sister Ann Hudson, three nephews, six nieces
and one great nephew. A memorial service was held at Billy King-Colonial
Chapel Funeral Home in Collins on April 14. |

Maxie Martin Chauvin, a native of Marrero and resident of Des Allemands,
passed away on April 16. She was 82 years old.
She is survived by her sons, Dwighty and Vance Frickey, stepsons
Calvin, Sylvester, Allen and Timmy Chauvin, daughters Jenelle Harrell,
Paula Bernard, Elain Bartell, Marcella Bartell and Brenda Ardoin,
stepdaughters Irene Owens and Ella Mae Andras, brothers Loveless
Jr., Ray, Harry and Thomas Martin, sisters Virginia Candies, Marion
Dufrene and Barbra Shortless, 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren
and eight great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by first husband Herbert Guidry, second
husband Lerrie Frickey and third husband Joseph Chauvin, parents
Loveless J. and Mathilda Babin Martin and brother Malcolm Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 20 at St. Gertrude
Catholic Church in Des Allemands.

| Doucet |
Merston Joseph Doucet, Sr., a native of Iota and resident of Luling,
passed away on April 11. He was 84 years old. A 44-year resident
of the parish, Mr. Doucet was a U.S. Army veteran and a survivor
of Pearl Harbor. He is survived by his wife, Angela Bourgeois Doucet,
children M.J. Doucet Jr. and Effie D. Benoit, sisters Annie Mae
D. Taylor and Minnie D. Young, and grandchildren Fr. Charles Benoit
O.S.B., Kristy Doucet Roach, Regina Benoit McMillan and Joey Doucet.
Visitation will be held on April 15 from 8:30 a.m. through 11:30
a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling, followed by services
at 11:30 a.m.

Clarise “Judge” Rerre Dufrene, a native of Gheens and resident
of Thibodaux, passed away on April 23. He was 85 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rita Guidry Dufrene, daughters
Janice Ramagos, Iris Plaisance, Karen Cortez and Catherine Faucheux,
brothers Oliver and Tildon Dufrene, sister Gertrude LeBlanc, nine
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marcelite Pontiff
Dufrene, brothers Lawrence and Clarence Dufrene and sisters Marguerite
Lucia Bodden, Bernice Hogan and Bertha Breaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 26 at St. Charles
Borromeo Church in Destrehan.

Naise Naquin Dufrene, a native and resident of Des Allemands, passed
away on April 9. She was 80 years old.
She is survived by her sons, Carl Joseph Dufrene, Curtis Joseph
Dufrene and Clifford John Dufrene, daughters Juanita Tonubbee, Lona
Loupe and Irma Breaux, brothers Whitney, Nollie and Wilbert “Brud”
Naqin, sisters Earline Schaubhut, Rita Schaubhut and Joyce McBroom,
nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in
death by her husband, Norman Joseph Dufrene, parents Caliste and
Agglia Dufrene Naqin, son Rodney Joseph Dufrene, brothers Randolph
and Norman Naquin, sister Inez Naqin and grandchild Shannon Dufrene.
Religious services were held on April 12 at Des Allemands Baptist
Church, followed by burial at the Des Allemands Mennonite Cemetery.

Gerald Joseph Dupre Jr., a native of Morgan City and resident of
Slidell, passed away on April 29. He was 67 years old.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron J. Dupre, Gerald J. Dupre Jr.,
Ralph Dupre and Edward Martina, daughters Lisa Dupre and Lana Hollis,
eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded
in death by his parents, Aaron and Odette Delane Dupre.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 4 at St. Gertrude Catholic
Church in Des Allemands, followed by burial at St. Gertrude Cemetery.

| Emil |
Edward Emil Jr. passed away on April 13 at Oscher Hospital. He
was 77 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Avinell Barletter Faucheux Emil of
New Sarpy, stepdaughters Donnell and Avinell Faucheux and Pandora
F Bollingham, stepson Donald Faucheux, brothers Richard, Albert
Donald and Walter Emil, sister Ruthie Rose Youngren, nine grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers
Leonard Emil II, George N.W. Terrenal and Benjamin Terrenal.
Visitation with the family was held on April 16 at Alexander Funeral
Home in Norco.

| Evans |
Teresa Marie Evans of Luling passed away on April 10. She was 41
years old.
She is survived by her husband, Don Evans, mother Nancy Tweedy,
stepfather Edward Tweedy, daughters Dawn and Donna Evans, son Paul
Bega, sister Debbie Matise and grandchild Brennan Bega.
A graveside service was held on April 15 at Jefferson Memorial
Gardens in St. Rose.

Alise Dean “A.D.” Fountain, a retired carpenter, passed away on
April 10 of emphysema. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Fountain was born in Oklahoma and lived in Destrehan for 34
years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Cleovis
Fountain, daughters Lahonda Schexnayder, Sharon Larkin, Brenda Parker
and Gail Dillman, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on April 14 at First Baptist Church
in Norco.

| Gaubert |
Denis Vincent Gaubert, a native of Ama and resident of Luling,
passed away on April 15. He was 78 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Zeringue Gaubert, sons Lowell
“Buddy” Gaubert, Theron “Moss” Gaubert, Guinn “Black” Gaubert and
Roth Gaubert, daughters Duenna G. Poché, Denise G. Boyd, Leila G.
Bourgeois and Jaida G. Bergeron, brother Irby Gaubert, sisters Eunice
G. Roberts, Ethel G. Keller and Leah Rae G. Cantrelle, 17 grandchildren
and two step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents,
Ambrose and Leah Zeringue Gaubert, brothers Lawrence, Norman, Emerson
and Clifford Gaubert, sister Agnes G. Adams and one grandson.
A U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. Gaubert was a retired
foreman for Shell Oil.
A service was held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville
on April 19.

Marguerite “Daisy” Walker Haynes, a retired employee of St. Charles
Pharmacy in Norco, passed away on April 20 of pneumonia at Northshore
Regional Medical Center in Slidell. She was 84 years old.
Haynes was born in 1919 and lived in Norco for the past 80 years.
Wife of the late Easil E. Haynes, mother of John E. Haynes and Thomas
J. Haynes Sr. of Slidell, sister of Georgette Chauvin and a brother,
Rudolph “Bud” Walker. She is also survived by three grandsons and
one great-grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Walker,
brother Howard Walker Sr. and sisters Edna Anderson, Gertrude Brannon,
Marie Simecek and Cecilia Kracen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 23 at Sacred Heart
Church in Norco, followed by interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum
in Destrehan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses.

| Jones |
Ruby Mace Jones, formerly of El Dorado, Ark., passed away on April
7 at her home in Luling. She was 81 years old.
Born on April 26, 1922, in Crossett, Ark., she was the daughter
of William E. and Sarah P. Mize Mace, a member of the Parkview Baptist
Church and the Ladies Auxilliary of the VFW.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allison V. Jones, brother
William Ed Mace and sister Loraine Jarmon. She is survived by her
son, Buddy Jones and his wife Pat of Watauga, Texas, daughter Susan
J. Weems and her husband Buddy, of Luling, grandchildren Gary Jones
of Wilson, N.C.; Dawn Lawrence and husband Mike of Washington Terrace,
Utah; Natasha Gilbery and husband M.C. of Fort Meade, Md.; Jeff
Weems and Jody Weems of Luling; great-grandchildren Tim Jones, Michael
Lawrence, Taylor Gilbert, John Gilbert, Hope Gilbert and Phoebe
Weems, sister Vivian McIlveene of Chattanooga, Tenn., sister-in-law
Mary Frances Mace of Caledonia, Ark. and many other nephews, nieces
and other relatives and friends.
A Funeral was held on April 10 at Parkview Baptist Church in El
Dorado, Ark.

Michael David Landry of Lafourche Parish passed away on April 22.
He was 39 years old. He is survived by his mother, Doris Rizzuto
of Harahan, daughters Brittany Nicole Landry and Brandy Ann Landry
of Destrehan, brother Richard James Landry of Atlanta, Ga. and sister
Sheryl Landry Karger of Luling. He is preceded in death by his father,
Louis W. Landry Sr., and brother Louis W. Landry Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 26 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.

Louise Mary Bergeron Ordoyne, a native of Des Allemands and resident
of Cut Off, passed away on April 29. She was 89 years old.
She is survived by her companion, O’Neil Triche, sons Jimmy, Gilbert
and Tony Ordoyne, daughters Rose LeBlanc, Geraldine Creppel and
Virgie LeBouef, brother Eli Bergeron, sisters Lucille Shutter and
Rita Morvan, 23 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren,
two step-great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ordoyne, companion
Percy Farve, parents Camille Bergeron Sr. and Selvina Guillot Bergeron,
brothers Henry Bergeron and Camille Bergeron Jr., sister Elizabeth
Bonner and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church
in Des Allemands on May 1, followed by burial at Sunset Cemetery
in Bayou Gauche.

Irma Cologne Plaisance, a native of Des Allemands
and resident of Raceland, passed away on April 2. She was 77 years
old.
She is survived by her husband, Edison P.
Plaisance, sons James A. “Tony” Plaisance and his wife Jill and
Holden J. Plaisance and his wife Vera Lee, daughters Gwen P. Taylor
and her husband John and Joy P. Carson and her husband Timmy, brother
Clifton “Dago” Cologne and his wife Genevieve, sister Shirly Bergeron
and husband Kerner, 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren,
19 great-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. She is
preceded in death by her parents, Ernest “Boone” Cologne and Lavinia
Loupe Cologne, and her sister Virgie Bergeron. She was a parishoner
at St. Hilary of Poitier Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on March
5 at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland, followed by burial
at St. Mary Cemetery.

Rita “Faye” Tregre, a native and resident of
Norco, passed away on April 18 at Cannon Hospice. She was 81 years
old.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Tregre, she
is survived by her daughters, Carol T. Bean, Janet T. Beber, Margaret
T. (Phil) Chauvin and Joy Tregre, sisters Florette Ribby and Laura
Grace “Bea” Smith, grandchildren Monique Garcia, Carolyn McArthur,
Michelle Crippen, Lisa Gilcrease, Angell, Jan and Kristen Chauvin
and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents,
Eno and Grave Landry, daughters Yohanna and Crystal Tregre and granddaughter
Marilyn Snyder.

21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
