| Bennett |
William W. Bennett, “Captain Bill,” passed away on April 14. He
was 78 years old.
A native of Union City, Tenn. and a 28-year resident of Destrehan,
Mr. Bennett was a dredge boat captain and a World War II veteran,
serving the Army as a machine gunner on the front lines as U.S.
forces came ashore at Normandy. He also toured France and the Rhineland
and was a prisoner of war in Germany for seven and a half months.
He was awarded a Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct
Medal and three Battle Stars for his service.
He is survived by his son Keith Bennett and his wife Christine,
grandchildren Kelly, Sarah, Brian, April, William and Kimberly and
eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife,
Dorothy Tullis Bennet, parents Zack and Gertrude Bennett and children
Wilborn Terry, Royce Kim and Deborah Kay Bennet.
Services were held on April 23 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home
in Lutcher followed by entombment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum
in Destrehan.

| Boudreaux |
Harry J. “Blackie” Boudreaux, a retired delivery man, passed away
on April 28. He was 67 years old.
Mr. Boudreaux was native of Napoleonville and 25-year resident
of Luling before returning to Napoleonville 15 years ago. He is
survived by his companion, Joyce Naquin, sons Byron Boudreaux, Harry
J. Boudreaux and David Boudreaux, daughter Beryl Ann Boudreaux Lato,
sisters Gertie Forest and Therese Whatley and eight grandchildren.
A Mass was held on May 1 at St. Elizabeth Church in Paincourtville.

| Bourgeois |
Marguerite Marie Hymel Bourgeois passed away on April 27. She was
87 years old.
She is survived by her brothers, Donald, Russell and Huey Hymel,
sisters Yolande H. Waguespack, Irma H. Marchadie, Geraldine Hymel,
Rowena H. Labat, Faye H. Troxclair, Elaine H. Troxclair and Frances
H. Poirrier, stepdaughter Marilyn Bush and a host of nieces and
nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death
by her husband, Paul Eric Bourgeois, parents Marie W. Hymel and
Dozillia J. Hymel, siblings Leonie and Richard Hymel and stepdaughter
Vilman Beaucoudray.
Services will be held on April 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic
Church in Vacherie starting at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning
at 8 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made
to the American Cancer Society.

| Chaisson |
Althea Chaisson, 91, passed away on April 15 at Bethany Health
Care Center in Lafayette. She was a native of Kraemer and a resident
of Morgan City.
She was retired from Lakewood Hospital, now Teche REgional Medical
Center, in Morgan City after 33 years of service, having worked
in the Sterile Central Department of the hospital. She was a past
recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award from the Morgan City
AARP, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City, the
Catholic Daughters, the Ladies Auxiliary of Lakewood Hospital and
numerous other volunteer organizations in Morgan City.
She is survived by one son, Aren J. Chaisson Jr., of Lafayette,
two daughters, Elizabeth “Billie” Gros of Paradis and Mary Chaisson
Theriot of Lafayette, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren
and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aren Joseph Chaisson
Sr., and her parents, Elizabeth Cortez Loupe and Joseph Loupe.
Mass was held on April 24 followed by burial in the Morgan City
Cemetery.

| Falgout |
Hilda Grabert Falgout, a native and resident of Raceland, passed
away on April 25. She was 88 years old.
She is survived by her daughters, Danielle Pierce and Carolyn
Legnon, brother Evariste Grabert, Jr., sisters Esther Mayet and
Eunice Falgout, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Evariste Grabert Sr.
and Lucia Guidry Grabert, brothers Euclid and Hubert Grabert and
sister Ada Breaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 28 at St. Hilary
of Poitiers Church in Mathews.

| Folse |
Charles Vincent Folse, a native and resident of Des Allemands,
passed away on April 16. He was 72 years old.
Mr. Folse was a US Army veteran, survived by his wife, Edith Carrere
Folse, mother Ourlie Matherne Folse, daughters Gay-Lynn Folse and
Laura F. LeBlanc and brother Malcolm Folse. He is preceded in death
by his father, Malcolm Folse.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 21 at St. Gertrude
Catholic Church.

Landry Fox passed away on April 30. He was 93 years old. Son of
the late Isadore and Celestine Fox, stepson of the late Marshall
Franklin, Sr., beloved husband of the late Beatrice J. Fox, father
of Ethel Russell, brother of Mary Jackson, Martha Gross, Isiah Franklin,
Sr., Matthew Franklin, the late Marshall Franklin, Jr., Susan F.
Davis and Noella Rivers. Grandfather of Claude Russel. Father-in-law
of Glenn Russell. Brother-in-law of Thelma D. Franklin and Rosalie
J. Tiller. Godfather of Rosalie L. Ramsey, Alfred Gross and Edward
Pierre. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
A native of Wallace and resident of Hahnville, a funeral was held
on May 3 at True Vine Baptist Church in Hahnville.

| Gaudet |
Della Rita Labat Gaudet, a native of Raceland and resident of Luling,
passed away on April 25. She was 80 years old.
She is survived by her stepson, Phillip Gaudet III, daughters
Henrietta Sommé, Michele Osburn and Aba Sommé, stepdaughter Carol
Lesage, brother Guy J. Labat, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Mitchel Sommé,
second husband Phillip Gaudet, Jr., and her parents, Odressie and
Henrietta Sapia Labat.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 28 at St. Mary’s
Nativity.

| Keller |
Carroll James Keller, Sr., a native of Ama and resident of Hahnville,
passed away on April 25. He was 69 years old.
An army veteran and former proprietor of the Hahnville Merchantile
Store, Mr. Keller is survived by his son, Carroll James Keller,
Jr., daughters Carrie Frances Keller DeJean and Holly Elizabeth
Keller Raffray, brothers Clifford Sr. and Lionel Keller, sisters
Daisy Rushing, Hilda Tregre and Shirley Weber and grandchildren
Kayla Michelle DeJean and Anthony Michael.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Frickey Keller, parents
Amedee Joseph and Bernadette Champagne Keller and brother Louis
Keller.
Religious services were held on April 28 at First Assembly in
Bayou Gauche.

Mildred B. Laurent passed away on April 3.
She was 87 years old.
A native and lifelong resident of Grammercy,
Mr.s Laurent is survived by her son, Maurice Laurent Jr. and his
wife, Pat, daughter Murna Troglione and her husband Frank, son Merlyn
Laurent and his wife Karen, son Monty Laurent and his wife Martha,
daughter Mildred Oubre, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Laurent, parents
Henry and Josephine Cailouet Bourgeois and son Matthew Laurent.
Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m.
until noon at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher followed by
entombment in St. Michael’s Mausoleum in Convent.

| Mayeux |
Catherine Denise Sassin Mayeux, beloved mother, daughter, sister
and friend, a member consultant for the Louisiana Credit Union League,
died on April 5. She was 40 years old.
Born in Texas City, Texas, she lived in Luling for the past 35
years and was a sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of
Luling. She spent her career, 20-plus years, in the credit union
movement.
Survivors include her son, Marc James Mayeux (17), daughters Mallory
Jean (15) and Madeline Eloise Mayeux (5), parents James and Barbara
Norris Sassin and brothers James and Jeffrey Sassin.
A memorial service was held on April 9 followed by interment at
St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory

Richard Murphy Moss, a native of Lake Charles
and resident of LaPlace, passed away on April 3. He was 58 years
old.
Mr. Moss was a U.S. Navy veteran, employed
since 1988 with Maintenance Enterprises, Inc. at Colonial Sugar
Refinery in Grammercy.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Luper Moss,
children Richard James Moss and wife Jennifer, Jonnette Moss Kinler
and husband Chuck, Mitzi Moss Vaughn and husband Terry and Adam
Moss, grandsons Austin, Dylan, Sean and Little Terry, brother Jim
Moss and wife Juanita, sisters Jane Sensat and fiance Bennett Derouen
and Penny Fontenot and husband J.E.
He is preceded in death by his mother Joan
Fletcher Moss, father George Leo Moss, brother Robert Moss and sister
Margaret Moss Cormiex.
A funeral service was held on April 7 at Johnson
Funeral Home in Lake Charles, followed by interment in Consolata
Cemetery

Alice
Maye Chiasson Palmisano, a native of Luling and resident of St. Rose
since 1939, passed away on April 14. She was 87 years old. Beloved
wife of the late Salvatore “Sam” Palmisano. Mother of Alice P. Gruntz
of Saint Rose, John A. Palmisano of LaPlace, Rosalie P. Lovetro of
Houston, Texas and Sylvia P. Petitfils of Saint Rose. Grandmother
of Angela “Dodi” Fenerty, Alphonse “Dobie” Gruntz III, Michelle Thomas,
Kim Stockslager, Kari Pivaral, Salvador “Johnny” Palmisano, Nicole
Palmisano, Troy Lovetro, Tanya Lovetro, Tammi Sturm, Trisha Koch,
Travis Lovetro, Jason Petitfils, Brad Petitfils and Stephanie Petitfils.
Sister of Betty Hymel, Alma Dasch, Bernice Oubre, Pearl Verda, Helen
Rome, Rose Chiasson, and the late Marie Laque, Pauline Chiasson, Arthur
Chiasson and Leon Chiasson. Daughter of the late Mary Louise Weimer
and Leon Chiasson. Also survived by 24 great grandchildren and a host
of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on April 17 at Lamana
Panno Fallo funeral home followed by burial in St. Charles Borromeo
Cemetery in Destrehan. |

Beatrice Rouillier “Bea” Pollet passed away on April 15 at Slidell
Memorial Hospital. She was 84 years old.
A native and lifelong resident of Luther, Mrs. Pollet is survived
by her daughter Frances Hage and her fiance, Dave Willis, son Dave
Pollet and wife Charlene, son Barry Pollet and wife Debbie, sister
Elaine Gaudet, brothers William and Robert Rouillier, devoted friend
Dorrel Poche and grandchildren Shannon Pollet and wife Christine,
Nicole Miller and husband Brad, Monica Mentel and husband Eddie,
Genna Marrero and husband Robert, Jack Burnett and fiance Shannon
Nold and Beth, Brian and Jeff Pollet and great-grandchildren Edward
and Easen Mentel and Madison Pollet.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert N. Pollet, parents
William and Elenor Rouillier, sisters Louise and Aimee and brothers
Charles, Al and Lawrence Rouillier.
A memorial service will be held on April 19 at 10 a.m. at St.
Joseph Catholic Church followed by entombment in the church mausoleum.

| Stohlman |
Lindsay Eleanor Stohlman, aged 21, passed away on April 12 at East
Jefferson Hospital. She was born in Metairie and lived in Violet
for six years before becoming a resident of Destrehan.
She was a senior journalism student at the University of Louisiana
in Lafayette. She also served two years in AmeriCorps and was a
resident counselor for two years at Camp Bon Coeur, a camp for young
children with heart defects.
She graduated from Destrehan High School in 1999 and was a member
of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was also a member of
the Society of Professional Journalists. She was currently employed
as a weekend journalist for the Daily Advertiser in Lafayette.
She was the beloved daughter of Deacon Mike and Patty Stohlman
and loving sister of Sarah Michelle Stohlman and Michael Henry Stohlman,
Jr. She is also survived by her boyfriend, Byron C. Tatman of Lafayette.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 1 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.

| Swann |
Fenwick Appleton Swann, former St. Charles County
Agent, passed away on Wednesday, April 9 at 1:11 p.m. at his home
in Luling. He was 69.
Swann was the beloved husband of Neila Swann.
Father of John Swann, Mary Bourque and Fenwick Swann III. Son of
the late Fenwick and Blanche Swann. Brother of June Swann Darnell
and Stanford Swann. Also survived by five grandchildren: Gary Swann,
Brandon Swann, Brent Michael Swann, Quinten Swann and Haleigh Bourque.
Swann was a native of Marksville and a resident
of Luling for 32 years. He served in the United States Army from
1958 to 1962.
He was County Agent for St. Charles and St.
Mary Parishes for 42 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus
Council 2409. He also served as an usher at Holy Family Catholic
Church.
Swann was well known for his work in the agricultural
field. He was a volunteer at Martin’s Garden Center in Luling during
his retirement. He also was known for his yearly tomato crop which
he shared with local clergy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday,
April 11 at Holy Family. Burial was in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Napoleanville,
La. Westside Funeral Home was in charge of services.

| Tridico |
Ronald Samuel Tridico, Sr., a native of New
Orleans and lifelong resident of Norco, passed away on April 10.
He was 59 years old.
Mr. Tridico was a retired LPN and self-employed.
He was formerly a trooper with the Louisiana State Police and was
a member of the American Legion and ABATE. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, later joining Special Forces and
becoming a green beret.
Mr. Tridico is survived by his wife, Laurie
Cuarino Tridico, sons Ronald Samuel Tridico Jr. and Ryan Thomas
Tridico, daughter Virginia “Jenny” Tridico, sisters Veda Tridico
Jackson and Sandra Tridico Wolf, and grandchildren Colton Wayne,
Kaley Ann and Sebastian Ryan. He is preceded in death by his parents,
Salvatore Joseph Tridico and Constance Mary Little Steinman Tridico.
Services were held on April 14 at H.C. Alexander
Funeral Home in Norco, followed by entombment at St. Charles Borromeo
Mausoleum.
