DeJean

Heloise “Lou” Folse DeJean, a native of Raceland and resident of Harvey, passed away on March 8. She was 90 years old.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Holmes, brother Johnny Folse, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raoul J. DeJean, parents Nelson and Clemence Z. Folse, brothers V.J., A.P. and Dennis Folse and sisters Rita Royster and Lena Foret.

A memorial service was held on March 11, followed by burial at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Des Allemands.

Dupuy

Patrick Charles Dupuy, a native and resident of Lutcher, passed away on March 16. Son of the late Russell J. Dupuy, he is survived by his mother, Zula Singletary Dupuy of Lutcher, brothers James Russell and Timothy Gene Dupuy both of Birmingham, Ala., sisters Gwendolyn D. Rizzuto of Grand Point, Lynnette D. Hidalgo and Patricia Clair Rizzuto of Paulina and Mary Kathleen Chambless of St. Amant, 11 nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 18 at St. Joseph Church Mausoleum in Lutcher.

Hoffman

Harry Davis Hoffman, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Norco, passed away on March 10. He was 90 years old.

Mr. Hoffman was husband of the late Alma Braud Hoffman, son of the late Harry A. and Elmire Davis Hoffman, father and father-in-law of James and Mary Hoffman, grandfather of Lisa A. and Alan Clement and great-grandfather of Brittney, Brooke and Brandie Clement, brother of Anna Mae Coriell, Lillian Pilla, Bertha Savoia and the late Earl Hoffman.

He was the office manager for National Gypsum Co. with 42 years of service and a founder and loyal member of the Marsh Duck Club for over 30 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests enrollment of masses.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 15 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church in Norco, followed by interment at Ascension Mausoleum in Donaldsonville.

Johnson

Henry Lee Johnson, a native of Dry Prong and resident of Luling, passed away on March 27. He was 77 years old.

Beloved husband of Lois Rita Toups Johnson for 54 years, devoted father of Gregory T. of Metairie, Cassie A. Kaplan of Luling, Rick M. of Thibodaux, Kerry C. Hotard of Luling, Shannon B. of Morgan City, Tracy S. of Covington and the late Wendell C. Johnson. Father-in-law of Michael Kaplan, Lonie Hotard, Alison P. Johnson, Stephanie H. Johnson and Pamela G. Johnson. Son of the late Alphonso A. Johnson and Sarah D. Johnson. Brother of Winard Johnson of Senora, Ga., Earline J. Jones of Pineville, Florine J. Swinson of Houston, and the late Julius T. Herman and Pearl Lee Fralcik; brother-in-law of Louise S. Jonson of Texarkana, Ark., William W. Jones of Pineville, Robert Swinson of Houston, Mrie Johnson of Vidor, Texas, Randall J. and Lois Toups of Waco, Texas and Betty Toups of New Martinsville, W.V. Grandfather of Brad, Sondra, Kelsey, Eden, Jonah and Christin Johnson, Joshua, Heather and Bailee Kaplan, Lance, Chad and Sarah Hotard; step-grandfather of Scott and Clint Hotard. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnson was retired from the Monsanto Chemical Co. after 33 years of service. Former owner of Little Schoolhouse Supplies, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post 0401 and the First Baptist Church of Luling.

Services were held at First Baptist Church on Paul Maillard Road in Luling on March 30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greenwalt Alzheimer’s Center, 1926 18th St., Kenner.

Oubre

Gilmer “Chip” Joseph Oubre Jr., a native of New Orleans and resident of Luling, passed away on March 9. He was 57 years old.

A retired electrician for Union Carbide, Mr. Oubre was a parishoner at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Joy Portier Oubre, father Gilmer Oubre St., son Jason Oubre, brother Ward Oubre and sisters Anna Mixon and Sheila Cliebert. He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Oubre, and mother Anna Mae Gueret Oubre.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 11 at Holy Family Catholic Church, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
