DA battle over attempted murder case
A man accused of attempting
to kill a detective with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office may
not face trial, said Sheriff’s officials in a press conference Wednesday
afternoon. The District Attorney’s office, in return, says that the
problems in the case are caused by missteps by the police and an “election
ploy” by the sheriff. |

the corner, the great pumpkin patch in Montz is making preparations
for what is expected to be a busy year. Children from over 100 schools
and day cares are expected to descend on Louisiana’s largest pumpkin

system closer to adopting fraud policy
At last week’s school board
meeting, members passed the second reading of a policy against fraud
for the school system. Currently, there is no policy to safeguard
the assets of the school system. The Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s
office recommends that all districts in the state adopt a fraud policy.
