Alligator Festival rescheduled

By Allen Lottinger, Jr.
Staff Writer

The Alligator Festival, which was scheduled to be held this weekend, has been rescheduled due to Tropical Storm Isidore. The event will be held November 14-17 at the West Bank Bridge Park in Luling.

Flint Distefano, with the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club, said that the decision to reschedule was made on Tuesday morning when it became apparent that the area would be affected by the storm.

“The time came when we had to make a decision one way or the other,” said Distefano. “Because of the cost involved with setting up the festival we decided it would be best just to change the date and not take a chance.”

The Alligator Festival has been held for the past 22 years. It is sponsored by the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club.
