Two teenage girls went under
the knife at East Jefferson Hospital on March 28 to repair torn ACLs.
But the parallels do not end there. Both girls injured the same leg
less then three weeks apart from each other. Both girls are from Luling.

subject of PBS special
Tomorrow residents of Norco
will have the opportunity to preview a PBS documentary on the community
which will be aired on PBS stations in July. The program is entitled
“Norco, a Company Town Divided” and is touted as an objective look
at the divisions between members of the community who disagree about
the benefits of living close to the Shell refinery.

Dr. Joseph “Eddie” Isolani enjoys more in his retirement than heading
down to his camp in Grand Isle and fishing for trout. The former family
practitioner has been retired from his Luling practice since the late
80’s but has fond memories of his work as a parish doctor since the
middle of the century when he moved here from New Orleans with his
wife, Lee. |

given in battery, auto cases
One conviction and three
guilty pleas were heard Thursday in St. Charles Parish. Calvin McMillan,
a 77-year-old Norco man, was convicted of simple battery.

distribution center to be expanded
At last week’s school board
meeting, members voted to begin the process to expand the school system’s
distribution center. Bids to nearly double the facility’s 4,644 sq.
feet will be taken until June and construction is scheduled to begin
