At last week’s School Board meeting, members took up the issue of skyrocketing health care costs as well as putting to rest the lingering debate over reapportionment. Before getting down to business, the students of the year from schools around the parish were recognized in an awards ceremony that included a video presentation.

The historic Paradis chapel, originally First United Presbyterian Church, was founded in 1914 and holds the distinction of being the first protestant church in the parish.
