December 13, 2003 School board picks new leader By Allen Lottinger, Jr. At Wednesday night’s school board meeting, members chose Steve Crovetto to serve as board president for the coming year. Mary Bergeron, the current vice-president, will remain in that position. The purpose of the president is to run the meetings which are held monthly at the school board office. The vice-president’s role is to fill in for the president when necessary. Crovetto has been a resident of St. Charles Parish for 25 years and represents district seven. He is the owner of a turf management company. He was an educator for 22 years and coached on the high school and college level, and served as an athletics director. Mary Bergeron represents district two. She is the manager of Prudential Gardener Realtors in St. Charles.
