December 10, 2003 Killona man killed for gambling jackpot By Blake M. Petit A Killona man was murdered in a Harvey apartment complex Sunday night after winning $4,000 in illegal gambling winnings, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. Donell Stipe, 38, of Killona, and Samuel Carter, 25, of Marrero, were leaving the complex and getting into a car shortly before 10:30 p.m. when they were approached by two armed men demanding money.
