Destrehan
man found sleeping in ex-judge's home
Ruben Codina, 42, of Destrehan,
was arrested Saturday when he was found sleeping in the home of former
District Judge Joel Chaisson Sr. He was charged with unauthorized
entry into an inhabited dwelling and two counts of resisting arrest
by violence. |

man indicted in molestation case
Harold Falgout Jr., 60,
of Hahnville, was indicted Dec. 17 by a grand jury. The jury returned
a true bill on nine counts of molestation of juveniles.

Four
car accident delays traffic for hours, five sent to hospital
On Tuesday morning, a four
vehicle accident stopped traffic in both directions on US 90 in Paradis
for several hours. The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. when an
18-wheeler heading east on US 90 collided with a truck heading south
on La. 306 (Bayou Gauche Road). |

Waterford 3 Operator banned from holding license
Scott P. Wolfe, formerly
a senior reactor operator at the Waterford 3 nuclear power plant in
Killona, has been banned from applying for or holding an operator’s
license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for three years.

On Thursday, ninth grade
physical science students at Hahnville High established what they
hope is a new category for the Guiness Book of World Records. The
six sections of Ken Oertling’s created a large periodic table of elements
using 112 pieces of poster board. |

Hahn: steady patriot
On Friday afternoon, the
opening ceremony of the George Michael Hahn Exhibit was held at the
courthouse. Hahn was the first governor of Louisiana after the Civil
War. He was also the founder of the town of Hahnville and of the St.

man killed for gambling jackpot
A Killona man was murdered
in a Harvey apartment complex Sunday night after winning $4,000 in
illegal gambling winnings, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s
Office. |

new businesses open in Oct./Nov. -- five close
During the months of October
and November, 20 new businesses applied to the St. Charles Parish
School Board for tax ID numbers to conduct business in the parish.
During that time period five other businesses discontinued operations.
