LaPlace man carjacked in Montz Sunday

By Blake M. Petit
Managing Editor

Police are searching for a Kenner man suspected of a carjacking in Montz Sunday.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, a man identified as Jeremy Holland, 23, asked a man for a ride on Sunday. The victim, a 19-year-old LaPlace man, knew Holland, and they drove around to several locations in St. John Parish before Holland asked him to drive him to Montz.

While in the area of CC Road, Holland allegedly produced a handgun and forced the victim out of the vehicle, driving off. The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office received the call reporting the incident at about 9:15 p.m.

The vehicle, a Mitsubishi Lancer, was recovered in Reserve by the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office late Sunday night or early Sunday morning.

A warrant has been issued for Holland’s arrest. He is a black male, and his last known address was in Kenner. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Blake M. Petit can be reached at BlakeP@heraldguide.com or at 758-2795, ext. 215.
