20 new businesses open in Oct./Nov. -- five close

By Allen Lottinger, Jr.
Staff Writer

During the months of October and November, 20 new businesses applied to the St. Charles Parish School Board for tax ID numbers to conduct business in the parish. During that time period five other businesses discontinued operations.

The new businesses were established nearly evenly between east and west bank. Nine of the businesses are located on the west bank. The remaining 11 are on the east bank.

Of the new west bank businesses, the majority, seven, are located in Luling. The remaining two are located one in Hahnville and one in Ama. The two closed businesses on the west bank were located one in Luling and one in Boutte.

Of the new east bank businesses, the majority, four, are located in Destrehan, three in St. Rose, three in Norco, and one in New Sarpy. Two of the closing businesses are located in Destrehan and one in Norco.
