8 different Tigers score in 56-0 win

After suffering a tough loss last week to Jesuit, the Hahnville Tigers were out to prove something this week. And a 56-0 victory over the Istrouma Indians was a pretty strong statement.

Hahnville quarterback Easton Melancon was forced to scramble out of the pocket several times against Jesuit, but still managed to complete 21 passes for 239 yards. Heading into the season the Hahnville running game was supposed to be the strength of the offense, but the Tigers averaged a little more than 2-yards per carry in their 28-13 loss to Jesuit in the season opener.

After a sluggish performance in a scrimmage against St. Charles Catholic, the Hahnville Tigers impressed in a 33-8 victory over St. James in last week’s jamboree. But the Tigers will need to take another giant leap forward if they hope to knock off Jesuit in the season opener for both schools.

The Hahnville defense had no answer for Jesuit tailback Paul Stanton, who rushed for 214 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Blue Jays past the Tigers, 28-13.
Valdin: Jamboree is dress rehearsal for special teams

Hahnville head coach Lou Valdin has said numerous times that when it comes to his team's annual jamboree against St. James, he could care less about the score.
