New QB will lead Tigers into district showdown with Thibodaux

Hahnville quarterback Austin Perrin scored three touchdowns after being thrust into the starting role last week versus Landry-Walker. He will get his first start this week versus Thibodaux. After two nailbiters in a row in which Hahnville took their opponents to triple overtime, the Tigers are hoping for a change of pace when they go up against Thibodaux this week.

The most pivotal moment of the game took place when Hahnville cornerback Drew Favre came on a blitz and flattened Landry-Walker Keytaon Thompson for a five-yard loss. For the second week in a row the Hahnville Tigers allowed their opponent to come back from a double digit deficit and take the game to triple overtime, but this time it was the Tigers that came out on top.

Hahnville receiver Brandon Singleton returns a punt 70 yards for a score during his team’s triple overtime loss to Rummel on Friday. The day after the Hahnville Tigers lost to the Rummel Raiders in triple overtime, Hahnville head coach Nick Saltaformaggio diverged from his regular postgame practice.

The Tigers defense swarm a ball carrier on their own goal line in overtime. The Hahnville Tigers left everything they had out on the field, but it was not enough to overcome the Rummel Raiders in a triple overtime loss.

Hahnville’s defense limited Salmen to just eight rushing yards on Friday. They will face a much tougher test this week against nationally-ranked Rummel. When the Rummel Raiders came to Tiger Stadium last year, they had just come off a state championship season.
