Valdin: Hahnville needs perfect game to knock off Destrehan

Hahnville running back Todge Scott tries to find a hole during the Tigers overtime win against Thibodaux. This week, Hahnville will face one of the best teams in the state when they host Destrehan. The parish will light up on Friday night when the Hahnville Tigers take on the Destrehan Wildcats in Hahnville.

Placekicker Craig Ford (#7) did a victory lap after kicking the game wining field goal in overtime to beat Thibodaux. It may have just been a coincidence that the clock read 1:11 when wide receiver Ricky Preston, who wears jersey no. 1, reeled in a leaping grab for a 19-yard touchdown on fourth down and 17 on Hahnville’s last possession of regulation.

The Tigers' defense gave has only given up one touchdown per game during regulation to start the season off. The difference between an undefeated Hahnville Tigers football team and one that is 1-2 going into district play this Friday against Thibodaux is two plays.
Missteps lead to Landry-Walker overtime win over Hahnville

Martindale taking on of many sacks Landry-Walker racked up in a 13-7 win over the Tigers. With nine seconds left in a tied game placekicker Craig Ford had a chance to give Hahnville their first home win of the season and improve the Tigers’ record to 2-1.

The Hahnville defense was impressive against Rummel, keeping the Raiders off the scoreboard until less than one minute remained in the game. That sole Rummel score was enough to give the Raiders the win. In their second home of the year, the Hahnville Tigers (1-1) are set to take on the Landry-Walker Buccaneers (2-0). They will have to do so without quarterback Dylan Keller, who started the first two games for the Tigers before suffering a shoulder injury last Friday.
