Hahnville receiver Jaylon Bryant fights for extra yardage after making a catch in the fourth quarter of the Tigers’ 21-27 loss to East St. John on Friday. Hahnville must put last week’s heartbreaking loss to East St. John behind them if they hope to knock off Higgins this Friday and stay in the race for a district championship.

Hahnville head coach Lou Valdin said his Tigers have a chance to put themselves in the driver’s seat for the District 8-5A championship if they can pull out a win over East St. John on Friday.

Hahnville receiver Jaylon Bryant makes a diving tackle on special teams while fellow Tiger Anthony Mott comes in to help finish off the ball carrier. The Hahnville Tigers looked very strong at halftime last Friday against a tough St. Augustine team. The defense had just made a crucial stop on a fourth and goal with only seconds remaining in the second quarter and the team took a 21-14 lead into the locker room. However, three second half turnovers changed their fortune as the Purple Knights were the ones who ended up going home with a 40-21 victory.

It was anyone's game last Friday night in Lutcher until the last two minutes of regulation as the Bulldogs pulled out to a two touchdown lead and defeated the Hahnville Tigers, 34-21.
