Hahnville fumbles way to victory in triple overtime

The most pivotal moment of the game took place when Hahnville cornerback Drew Favre came on a blitz and flattened Landry-Walker Keytaon Thompson for a five-yard loss. For the second week in a row the Hahnville Tigers allowed their opponent to come back from a double digit deficit and take the game to triple overtime, but this time it was the Tigers that came out on top.

Hahnville’s defense limited Salmen to just eight rushing yards on Friday. They will face a much tougher test this week against nationally-ranked Rummel. When the Rummel Raiders came to Tiger Stadium last year, they had just come off a state championship season.

Junior quarterback Mike Neal scored the first touchdown of the game on a 16-yard rush and also had a few long passes in Hahnville's win over Salmen. The Nick Saltaformaggio coaching era at Hahnville started off with a bang as the Tigers dominated the Salmen Spartans in the season opener.
