Hahnville runner finishes cross country course with blazing time

Hahnville’s Bryce Robinson finished the Catholic High Invitational with the second-fastest time run in the state this year. There were Tigers in Baton Rouge on Saturday, and it wasn’t just of the LSU variety. The Hahnville Tigers cross country team had an outstanding performance at the Catholic High Invitational, bringing home a sixth-place finish with 256 points.
East St. John will try to force Tigers to rely on passing game

Hahnville’s rushing attack was the key against Terrebonne as both Todge Scott and Lynn Simmons rushed for more than 100 yards. The Hahnville Tigers will take on the East St. John Wildcats for the team’s homecoming game this Friday. Hahnville (3-3, 2-1) is coming off a big 22-7 win over Terrebonne that they grinded out in the rain and mud.

Tailback Todge Scott busts through the line and leans back to pick a few extra yards. With torrential rains hitting Houma in the hour before Hahnville took the field against Terrebonne the turf quickly turned into mud, but that did not stop Hahnville’s running backs from turning in an outstanding performance.

Hahnville receiver Ricky Preston returns a kickoff during his team’s 49-0 loss to Destrehan last Friday. Preston and the rest of the Tiger offense must forget about last week’s loss in order to salvage the season. After suffering one of the worst defeats in school history last week against parish rival Destrehan, the Hahnville Tigers are picking up the pieces going into this week’s game against Terrebonne.

The parish will light up on Friday night when the Hahnville Tigers take on the Destrehan Wildcats in Hahnville.
