The Hahnville Tigers were eliminated from the playoffs last week by way of a 35-14 loss to St. Thomas More, who is considered the front-runner in the 2010 state championship race.

"Survival" is the best word to describe Hahnville's opening playoff win after the Tigers held back a furious rally by West Jefferson in the final minute of regulation for a 35-31 victory. But against No. 2 seed St. Thomas More this Friday, the Tigers will have to do much more than just survive if they hope to keep their state title dreams alive.

There is no doubt that Hahnville head coach Lou Valdin wishes his team was entering the Class 5A state playoffs on a high note, but the Tigers' offensive struggles did them in during last week's 41-16 loss to East St. John.
