HHS Defensive Player of the Year

From staff and wire reports
HHS Defensive Player of the Year
Ben Taylor
Hahnville - Position LB

Hahnville senior middle linebacker Ben Taylor was one of the main reasons the Tiger defense was a terror to face.

Taylor, a three-year starter, led his team with 124 total tackles in the regular season, which included 92 solo tackles and 32 assists. The senior also had 11 tackles for loss, seven sacks, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries and one pass breakup.

“Over the summer I worked hard at becoming stronger and faster,” Taylor said. “I also played with a lot more passion this year because it was my senior season.”

Taylor, who has been named to the All-District team for three straight seasons, said his fondest memory of his senior year was beating Destrehan.

“I played one of my best games agaisnt Destrehan and it was big to beat them my senior year,” he said. “I was also proud of the fact that we went undefeated at home.”
