Louisiana High School Athletic Association Commissioner Kenny Henderson confirmed Monday that the Tigers were ordered to forfeit seven victories because then-senior running back Greg Julien was ineligible under the eight-semester rule.

The ruling was handed down in April, but was not made public and Hahnville did not appeal.

Henderson said that his department doesn’t routinely release the rulings because the department doesn’t have the manpower. He also says that this is nothing new, the department see situations like this all time from junior varsity to freshman teams.

Julien, who rushed for 684 yards and seven touchdowns last season, played in victories over McDonogh 35, Istrouma, Helen Cox, O.P. Walker, McDonogh, East Ascension and in a loss to Destrehan.

He did not play in the final three games of the season, which included victories against Dutchtown and St. Amant and a loss to East St. John.

Hahnville qualified for the Class 5A playoffs, defeating Huntington of Shreveport then losing to Rummel in the second round. Julien did not play in those games.

The Tigers were ordered to forfeit all seven victories Julien played in, giving them a record of 2-10 overall and a 2-3 in District 6-5A play.

The school also was put on administrative probation for one year and was fined the maximum amount of $400.
