Celebrate women with the Arc of St. Charles
BOUTTE - Women can enjoy a day of pampering at the Arc of St. Charles’ Cajun Village Thrift Store in Boutte on Oct. 22 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. An event will be held celebrating Woman Awareness Month and will include survivor speakers, facials and makeup, hand scrubs, door prizes, and blood pressure and self breast exam information. Wear pink to support breast cancer awareness.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Cedric Richmond (LA-02), along with Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43), introduced The Flood Insurance Implementation Reform Act of 2013. This bipartisan legislation aims to improve the National Flood Insurance Program by ensuring that the implementation of new rates do not burden homeowners or slow the recovery of the nation's housing market.
