SGM Charles J. Bordes, AUS retired, 84, passed away at his home on Sept. 25, 2011. He was born in Destrehan and lived in Jefferson Parish. He was the son of the late Marie Rushing Bordes and Albert A. Bordes, beloved husband of the late Alice Bayly Bordes, father of Sandra B. Dart (husband John), Roger J. Bordes (wife Cindy) and the late Gary C. Bordes; brother of Elizabeth B. Mueller, Gloria B.Trosclair, Alton W. Bordes and the late John H. Bordes; grandfather of Kenneth C., Lauren E. and Brad J. Bordes, Andrew J. Dart and Donald and Joseph Lavigne.
SGM Bordes was a veteran of WWII and the Gulf War with 39 years of service to his country. Services were held on Sept. 29 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Metairie. Interment with military honors was at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The online guestbook is available at www.gardenofmemoriesfuneralhome.com.
