iPads for SCC students

Senior Janesha Gooden explores the pre-loaded apps on her new iPad. The 16 GB iPad 2, an electronic tablet, is a complete system with all hardware built internally into the tablet that uses a touch screen to run applications.

The iPad will replace laptop computers that St. Charles Catholic High School students have been using for the past four years.

The technology staff, along with student volunteers, spent countless hours during the summer months to inventory each of the 450 iPads prior to distribution.

Each iPad has been entered into SCC’s system through a serial number and each iPad has a tag so that the school can keep track of them not only with the tag system, but also through a wireless tracking system.

The iPads have been synced to the master computer with "Apps" that were deemed necessary for instruction by faculty members during the initial trial run and meetings of the Technology Committee.
