Mr. and Mrs. W. Gerard Gautrau of St. Rose announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Elise Gautrau, to Jake Michael Hebert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Hebert of Destrehan.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Teresa L. Kernion and the late Mr. Charles F. Kernion Jr. of Metairie and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Gautrau of New Orleans.

She is a 2005 graduate of Destrehan High School and is a graduate of LSU School of Dentistry with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene.

The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Mildred Portera and the late Mr. Antonino Portera of Destrehan and the late Murray and Therese Hebert of New Sarpy.

He is a 2007 graduate of Destrehan High School and is a graduate of Louisiana Technical College with a degree in industrial maintenance.

The wedding will take place in the fall at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan.
