Dont be alarmed: IMTT holding training drill Saturday
East Bank residents shouldn’t get alarmed if they see smoke rising from the IMTT building in St. Rose.
As part of the company’s annual emergency responder familiarization training, they will conduct a multi-agency response drill on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until noon.
Residents of the area near the terminal may see various emergency response vehicles entering the terminal and people passing by on River Road may see what looks like smoke coming from a building.
This will all be part of the simulated emergency which is designed to enhance cooperation and efficiency between IMTT, the fire departments, Sheriff's Office, EMS, 9-1-1 and the Emergency Operations Center.
