N.O. woman slugs parent at Hahnville football game
A 19-year-old New Orleans woman was arrested following Hahnville's 34-28 victory over O. Perry Walker.
Witnesses reportedly told police that Sharmain Alexis Matthew was asked to stop and allow the Hahnville band and dance team to exit the field to the clubhouse. Matthew allegedly became combative and swung a fist and purse, striking a parent in the face and head. Police officers at the game intervened and attempted to arrest Matthew. Matthews responded by continuing to fight with the police, kicking the responding deputies in the legs, cops said.
Matthew was arrested and transported to the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center and was booked with one count of aggravated battery, two counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting an officer.
