Tigers honored at USM camp

Melancon, who will be a junior next year, was awarded the Camp Quarterback MVP. Perrin, who will be a sophomore next season, was named the Camp Offensive Line MVP.
That’s impressive when you take into account that the top football players in the region annually attend camp at Southern Miss. With two Tigers rising above the competition, Hahnville head coach Lou Valdin should be excited about his offense next season.

Legislators vow to help parish fight huge insurance increases - 513 views
Parish President V.J. St. Pierre, along with eight other parish presidents and representatives from five other parishes, visited Washington, D.C. to talk to officials about the potential spike in local flood insurance premiums should large portions of the Biggert-Waters Act be allowed to take effect in October.
