HHS soccer stars help premier team reach regionals

BRSC 94 Black U17 soccer team recently won the Regional Premier League State Championship.

The state tournament was held June 4-5 in Baton Rouge. Two local players shared in this success. Hahnville High School junior Reid Gautreaux and Tiger senior Jonathan Schmaltz are both members of the state championship team. The team will now travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to compete in the Region III Southern Regional Championship held June 16-22 for a chance to compete in the National Championship being held in Arizona later in July. The squad will likely face teams from Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
