Recipe: Stir-fried pork and basil

Recipe: Stir-fried pork and basil

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Thai bird’s eye chiles or small hot chiles, seeded and minced
1 pound ground pork
2 teaspoons sugar
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons fish sauce
2 cups Thai basil leaves or regular basil, lightly packed
Hot rice

Directions:
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and chiles; stir just until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add pork, stir and cook until browned, about 2 minutes.
Add sugar, fish sauce and basil and cook, stirring, just until basil wilts, about 2 minutes. Serve on hot rice.

Yield: 2 generous servings
