Phyllis Joan Mayhall Barraco, 71
Phyllis Joan Mayhall Barraco, 71, gently passed away on April 21, 2011 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carney Allen “C.A.” Mayhall Jr. and Mamie A. Louviere Mayhall, brother, Robert A. Mayhall, and niece, Armande E. Richoux. She was the beloved wife of 53 years to Peter R. Barraco Sr., devoted mother to Patricia J Bourgeois (husband Barry), Peter R. Barraco Jr., Phillip M. Barraco (wife Dawn Rulapaugh), Preston M. Barraco, Paul C. Barraco and Patrick Barraco (wife Allison Hebert); grandmother of seven, great-grandmother of one, sister of Marilyn Richoux (husband Ralph) and Elizabeth Simoneaux (husband Ferol), and best friend of Shirley Dupepe Durabb. She is also survived by two very special uncles, Lynn “Tony” Louviere Sr. and Col. Van R. Mayhall Sr., and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express thanks to Odyssey Hospice, Fr. Harry Bugler, Dr. Sujata Chava and H.C. Alexander Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
