Sherry Candies Heurtin, 75, a native and resident of Des Allemands, passed away on May 7, 2011.

She is survived by her daughters, Jan Thompson (husband Jeff), and Candy Ford (husband Craig), honorary daughter, Kathryn Fambrough, brother, Tommy Candies, sister, Jackie Loupe, grandchildren: Wendy Chauvin, Jimmy Thompson, Chris Thompson and Billy Thompson, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Heurtin, parents, Gus and Beulah Frickey Candies, and brother, Glenn Candies.

 

She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, St. Charles Parish Retired Teachers Association and an educator and principal in St. Charles Parish public schools for 33 years.

 Funeral services were held on May 10 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with burial following at Christen Cemetery in Des Allemands. Falgout Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
