A Boutte man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed another man in the back of the neck last week, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Jarrod G. Washington, 20, of 353 Sharon Drive, was on Lily Drive in Boutte just after 6 p.m. last Wednesday when he got into a fight with an acquaintance, according to authorities. Sometime during the fight, Washington allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old man in the back of the neck.

The victim was able to run to the nearby house of a relative, who drove him to St. Charles Parish Hospital. Police arrested Washington shortly before 10 p.m. that night.
