Arrests
•Jason A. Zeringue, 46, of 300 6th St. in Norco, was arrested on Feb. 8 and charged with D.W.I. and reckless operation.
•Christopher A. Twiner, 39, of 14075 River Road in Luling, was arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with D.W.I., not driving in a single lane of traffic and possession of Crack.
•Deborah W. Black, 60, of 1401 Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace, was arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with D.W.I. and not driving in a single lane of traffic.
•Phillip R. Downey, 46, of 6075 Grelot Road 101 in Mobile, Ala., was arrested on Feb. 5 and charged with D.W.I. and improper control of vehicle.
•Dwayne M. Plaisance Jr., 22, of 406 Ellen St. in Ama, was arrested on Feb. 8 and charged with 2nd degree battery.
•Michael T. Luckett, 22, of 420 Smith St. in Hahnville, was arrested on Feb. 8 and charged with aggravated battery.
•Tavalyn K. Session, 34, of 290 Second St. in St. Rose, was arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with theft over $500.
•Chad A. James, 28, of 8 Foundry Road in Westwego, was arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with theft over $500.
•Wesley Foster, 38, of 524 N. Alexander in New Orleans, was arrested on Feb. 10 and charged with D.W.I., reckless operation and open container.
•Joseph Anderson Jr., 31, of 117 E. LA 631 Highway in Des Allemands, was arrested on Feb. 10 and charged with D.W.I., expired driver’s license, under 15 parent permit, resisting arrest by refusing ID, resisting arrest by flight, resisting arrest by violence and battery on a police officer.
•Galen F. Hill, 51, of Mott Lane in Des Allemands, was arrested on Jan. 31 and charged with possession/distribution of a legend drug, open container, suspended driver’s license, license not kept on self and vehicle requiring headlamp.
•Todd G. Brierly, 38, of 4533 Prairy St. in Metairie, was arrested on Jan. 31 and charged with distribution of SCH I CDS - to wit Marijuana and distribution of a counterfeit SCH II CDS - Methamphetamine.
•John M. Perkins, 40, of 8708 Live Oak in Ocean Springs, Miss., was arrested on Jan. 31 and charged with D.W.I., speeding and not driving in a single lane of traffic.
•Chris A. Myles, 25, of 200 Boutte Estates Drive in Boutte, was arrested on Jan. 30 and charged with D.W.I., reckless operation, traffic control signal, not driving in a single lane of traffic and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Legislators vow to help parish fight huge insurance increases - 544 views
Parish President V.J. St. Pierre, along with eight other parish presidents and representatives from five other parishes, visited Washington, D.C. to talk to officials about the potential spike in local flood insurance premiums should large portions of the Biggert-Waters Act be allowed to take effect in October.
