Mary McCoy Matherne
Mary McCoy Matherne, 89, passed away on Jan. 14, 2011 in River Ridge.
She was the beloved wife of the late Earl Hancock by first marriage, the late Lester McCoy by second marriage and the late Sidney Matherne by third marriage; daughter of the late Oliver Grover Wooten and Lily Thomas Wooten, mother of Bobby Hancock (wife Candi), Patsy Wright (husband Richard), Joyce Strength (husband John), Susan Dempster (husband Robert) and the late Barbara Waguespack; mother-in-law of James Waguespack, grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 25. She was the owner of McCoy’s Dairy Kool in Paradis.
Religious services were held on Jan. 18 at Falgout Funeral Homes of Raceland with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Helen Gray Foundation, c/o River Region Hospice, 507 Upstream St., River Ridge, LA 70123. Falgout Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
