A 32-year-old Eunice man was arrested after authorities say he robbed the Boutte Circle K on Jan. 6.

According to police, a 27-year-old Boutte woman was working at the store when Horatio Roussell, of 1466 Jacob Road C, entered at around 1:45 a.m.

The clerk told detectives that Roussell grabbed a can of beer and beef jerky and asked her for a carton of cigarettes. When the victim gave the suspect his total, he jumped over the counter, punched the victim in the face and fled the scene with the cash in the register, according to police.

Roussell is being charged with simple robbery, simple burglary and on a St. Charles Parish attachment.
