Marion M. Dufrene, 81, passed away on Dec. 21, 2010 in Luling.
She was the beloved wife of Lloyd G. Dufrene, mother of Marshall Dufrene (wife Wanda), Greg L. Dufrene (wife Cathy), Blake Dufrene (wife Heather), Christine Williams (husband Jeff) and the late Kent Dufrene; daughter of the late Loveless and Mathilda Martin, sister of Harry Martin, Virginia Candies, Barbara Shortes and the late Malcolm, Thomas “T.J.”, Loveless Jr., Ray Martin and Maxie Chauvin; grandmother of Nicky Dufrene, Tammy Smith, Jared Portwood, Dawn Dufrene, April Noel, Lori Oubre, Jesse Leonard, Jamie Williams and Cortney Williams; and great-grandmother of 17. She was a native and resident of Des Allemands. Religious services were held at Des Allemands Baptist Church on Dec. 23. Falgout Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Court tosses out 75-year sentence - 983 views
A 43-year-old man who was sentenced to 75 years in jail for molestation of a juvenile and sexual battery will be retried after his sentence was thrown out by an appellate court due to a technicality.
